In Arc Raiders, all the arc enemies are always a constant threat to the raiders. Even the smallest ones, including wasp, fireball, or the largest ones, such as Rocketeer, Leaper, can hunt down a raider with ease. However, Embark Studios recently revealed that Shredders are the deadliest arc among them. The Shredders used to be a problem only in Stella Montis, and now they are heading to the Blue Gate map. Arc Raiders Shredder Location

Unlike the Matriarch arc in Arc Raiders, the Shredders don’t specifically spawn during an event. The Shredders are scattered across the intricate Stella Montis map, and you are eventually bound to run into one as soon as you drop into Stella Montis in Arc Raiders.

Currently, Stella Montis is the only place where you can find the lethal Shredders in the game; however, they are all set to head to other maps in the future.

Shields and Augments

We aren’t fighting against a big threat like Queen Arc in Arc Raiders. So, we don’t need a higher-tier augment and shields to combat a Shredder. So, make sure to equip at least a Combat MK.1 basic combat augment so that you can put on a medium shield. You can go in with a light shield if you have faith in your dodging and shooting skills, but we highly recommend grabbing a medium shield.

Weapons

Prioritize selecting a weapon like Anvil or Ferro that has strong ARC armor penetration. In addition, you can go ahead with the best weapons in Arc Raiders, like Hullcracker, to quickly kill a Shredder, but that’s a huge risk, as you can lose your weapon.

So, a shotgun (though Il Toro has been nerfed in a patch recently), an Anvil, or a Ferro is the safest bet, and even the level 1 weapon is enough to kill a Shredder. Also, pick up enough ammunition just in case

Healing Items

Make sure to have enough shield rechargers and bandages ready in your backpack before you face a Shredder. These are the two most important items you will actively need during your fight in case you accidentally get caught in a shrapnel blast.

Grenades and Gadgets

Grenades, such as Heavy Fuze Grenades or even the Light Impact Grenades, are capable of killing a shredder. However, you need to precisely aim and throw the grenades in the small opening we get after a Shredder completes its shrapnel blast attack. So, consider grenades only if you are an expert or when you are out of ammo, mainly to avoid getting shot while trying to throw grenades.

Tips and Tricks to Kill Shredders in Arc Raiders

Even though we recommend that anyone avoid engaging in fights with Shredders, many of you are out on the hunt for Shredders, either for fun or to collect valuable resources from the arc enemy in Arc Raiders. Like every arc in the game, Shredder also has a primary weakness: its thrusters, as we mentioned earlier. So, here is how to kill a Shredder easily in Arc Raiders:

1. Lure Shredders to a Perfect Place With Adequate Covers

Once you encounter a Shredder, don’t panic and start running. Instead, quickly find a place nearby with enough covers. The Shredder will begin tracking you, and you can reach out to a cover. The good news is that the Shredder does only one type of attack, shrapnel blast, where it continuously fires shrapnel at you in close quarters for a short period. So, whenever the Shredder begins to scream, it’s your call to take cover behind any structure.

2. Utilize the Opening and Strike the Weakness

Once the Shredder stops its attack, it’s your time to come out and utilize the small opening we get. Since thrusters are the weak spot of a Shredder, shoot right at its thrusters. Once you hit a few shots, go take cover once again, as the Shredder will unleash its shrapnel blast once again. Repeat this method a few times and keep shooting its thrusters, and it will be on fire soon.

3. Remember, Taking Cover Is the Key to Success

Safely hiding behind a cover whenever the Shredder unleashes the shrapnel blast is the key to killing a Shredder in the game. Once you have done enough damage by utilizing the small opening, land a finishing attack when it’s on fire, and you can now freely loot the Shredder.

Making it out alive while fighting a Shredder totally depends on you, as you need to time your attacks precisely. Even the slightest mistiming could result in your death as the Shredder’s shrapnel attack rips you apart in no time.

Already, the act of killing a Shredder is a hard task, and to top it off, some players may ruin the fun for you by attacking you. Worst of all, if another Shredder is nearby, it will turn the situation into hell. Going against two Shredders, even with a full squad, is a tough job to pull off. So, make sure to engage in fights with a Shredder only if you feel you are alone, and avoid getting into third-party fights at all costs.
