Rolling for the perfect artifact is the main gameplay loop for Genshin Impact. It is the only way you can increase the strength of your characters outside of their preset. Sadly, artifact farming also requires a massive amount of grinding. Thankfully, this is slowly changing with the recent updates and the newDust of Enlightenment added in Genshin Impact 5.7 takes it one step further. Here is a complete guide on how you can get and use Dust of Enlightenment in Genshin Impact, and why it is extremely useful for artifact farming.

What is Dust of Enlightenment in Genshin Impact?

Dust of Enlightenment is a new item in Genshin Impact that can be used to reallocate the enhancements of minor affixes on a fully leveled 5-star artifact. So, if you have an artifact with 2 enhancements on Defense, 1 Enhancement on Crit Rate, and 0 enhancements on Crit Damage, you can reshape the artifact using the Dust of Enlightenment into something like 0 enhancements on Defense, 2 Enhancement on Crit Rate, and 1 enhancements on Crit Damage.

This doesn’t mean that you can change the added affixes on the artifact. The affixes added on the Artifact will remain the same, but only the values will change based on the stats you have prioritized. Also, the affixes you have selected for an enhancement is guaranteed to receive a total of 2 enhancements at the minimum. Also, after the enhancement is made, you get to decide which one to keep between the old artifact stats and the rerolled stats.

Now, as you continue using Dust of Enlightenment, you obtain Hallowed Exegesis for that artifact. So, what is Hallowed Exegesis? Let’s take a closer look at it.

Hallowed Exegesis Explained in Genshin Impact

For each use of Dust of Enlightenment on an artifact, you get one point of Hallowed Exegesis on it. After you have accumulated six points of Hallowed Exegesis on an artifact, you can reshape the item with 3 confirmed enhancements minimum for the prioritized affixes. This is called Advanced Reshape, and you can do it twice on an artifact, meaning 12 uses of Dust of Enlightenment.

Furthermore, after accumulating 16 points of Hallowed Exegesis, you unlock the Decreed Reshape option for the artifact. The Decreed Reshape allows 4 confirmed enhancements minimum for the selected affixes. So, if you are having terrible luck while using the Dust of Enlightenment, you are guaranteed to have a top-tier artifact after spending 16 of them.

How to Get Dust of Enlightenment in Genshin Impact

The Dust of Enlightenment is an incredibly rare item in Genshin Impact and is currently only obtainable through the Stygian Onslaught event or from the Genshin Impact battle pass. Other than that, simply logging in during Genshin Impact 5.7 will get you two Dust of Enlightenment for free as a gift in the in-game mailbox.

Now that you know how to get the Dust of Enlightenment, let’s see how to use it:

• Open the Artifact tab from the character window and select the artifact you want to reshape.
• Enhance the Relic to max if it hasn’t been maxed yet. If the Relic is already max level, skip this step.
• Now, select the Reshape option. Click on the minor affixes you want to enhance and then click on the Reshape option.
• Wait for the new stats to roll, and then select whether you want to keep the old or the new artifact set.
