The Boys Season 4 showed us that Butcher is now a supe with Venom-like powers. Now the big question people have is, Butcher, even without his powers, was almost unkillable, so how will he die in Season 5 of The Boys with all his powers? If we look at the comic version of The Boys, whatever has happened in the show, if not directly, somewhat aligns with the arc the comics follow. So, now the big question is, does Butcher die in The Boys comics? And if he does, who kills him? Find out below.
Hughie Kills Butcher in The Boys Comics
In the comic version of The Boys, Butcher is killed by none other than Hughie. After Homelander’s Death in the comics, Butcher is not satisfied with just the death of his arch-nemesis. So, he creates a strain of Compound V that can kill supes, similar to the Supe-killing virus we have seen in The Boys series.
Butcher creates this contagious virus that, when released into the atmosphere, will kill all the supes in the world. Frenchie, Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and The Female (Kimiko) oppose this maniacal plan of Butcher and get into a fight with him. However, even after trying their best, Butcher kills Frenchie, The Female, and Mother’s Milk, with Hughie left as the sole surviving member.
Hughie decides to stop Butcher, and they get into a massive battle at the top of the Empire State Building. The fight leaves Butcher heavily injured, and Hughie is holding a knife against him, but is not able to get himself to kill Butcher.
Butcher, knowing that if he lives, he will not be able to stop himself from executing his plan, lies to Hughie that he has killed his parents, and in a fit of rage, Hughie stabs Butcher through his heart and frantically calls home. Since Butcher was lying, his parents pick up the phone, and when Hughie looks back at Butcher, he sits there with his back to the wall, dead, and a smile on his face. So, this is how Butcher dies in the comics, and let’s hope he gets a better end in the series. The Boys Season 5 will tell what happens. Till then, stay tuned with us for further updates!
