Is Aino Worth Building? Pros and Cons

Aino is a free 4-star character in Nod-krai, with low damage output but a good ability for applying frequent Hydro on enemies. As a free 4-star character, she doesn’t really compare with the top 4-star characters in the game, like Xingqiu, Bennet, or Sucrose. However, Aino is not completely useless, as her Burst allows very quick application of Hydro in a large area.

ProsCons
Elemental Burst applies off-field Hydro in an Area very quicklyLow damage output
Low Energy RequirementsHeavily dependent on her C6
Elemental Skill and Normal Attacks are useless

Furthermore, Aino’s C6 constellation gives her a passive that increases the damage from party allies when dealing Electro-charged, Bloom, Lunar Charged, and Lunar Bloom reactions.

Aino is mainly useful if you want a character from Nod-krai in the team that applies Hydro. Other than that, she can also work on Vape and Overload teams as a Hydro applier when played correctly.

Overall, I personally don’t see a reason to build her, unless it is just for increasing usable characters in the Stygian Onslaught.

Are Aino’s Constellations Any Good?

Aino’s constellations in Genshin Impact are mostly useless, excluding her C6. Her C6 gives her a passive that increases Electro Charged, Bloom, Lunar Charged, and Lunar Bloom damage of the entire team. If you have obtained Aino’s C6, then you can use her in Lauma and Flins teams.

Best Genshin Impact Aino Builds

Aino may be one of the weaker characters in Nod-krai, but she can still be a decent support with the proper build. Here is a quick overview of Aino’s best build in Genshin Impact.

Although the above build is fairly easy to achieve, we have also added alternatives to her build below.

Aino Build Weapons: Best and Alternatives

NameRarityValue
Master Key4-starBest
Favonius Greatsword4-starRecommended
Flame-Forged Insight4-starGreat

Aino scales purely on Elemental Mastery when it comes to her use, as only her Hydro application is worthwhile. So, you need to equip her with Claymores that provide Elemental Mastery or increase her Energy Recharge Rate.

This makes Favonius Greatsword the recommended weapon for Aino in Genshin Impact. However, if you want to increase Aino’s damage output without factoring in her team role, then Master Key Nod-krai craftable Claymore is going to be her top pick. Other than that, the Flame-Forged Insight event weapon is also good on her.

Aino Build Artifacts: Best and Alternatives

NameValue
Silken Moon’s SerenadeBest
InstructorGreat
Noblesse ObligeGreat

Silken Moon’s Serenade is the clear favorite for artifacts on Aino. It greatly increases Elemental Mastery for the entire team, making it an amazing support artifact.

Other than that, you can use either Instructor or Noblesse Oblige on Aino, depending on whether your team requires ATK or Elemental Mastery.

StatRecommended ValuePriority
EMAs much as possibleHighest
ERR140+High

For Aino’s substats, purely focus on building her EM and Energy Regeneration Rate. She already has a low energy requirement for her Burst, and making it even faster is the correct way to play Aino. Other than that, her EM stat will greatly help in increasing elemental reaction damage from her quick Hydro application.

Best Teams for Aino Builds in Genshin Impact

With Aino’s best build, she also needs to be played with allies that resonate with her abilities. So, here are the best teams Aino can help with her Hydro application.

Flins Lunar-Charged Team

The first team that Aino can help is the Flins Lunar-charged team. Although Flins is not out yet, he is going to be the perfect beneficiary of the quick hydro application from Aino. Having Aino in the team will also increase the Nod-krai character count for the team, activating his Moonsign effect.

Arlecchino Vape and Ineffa Overload Hybrid Team

One of the older teams that can also benefit from Aino is Arlecchino Vape and Overload hybrid. Aino will replace Xingqiu in this team, providing faster Hydro application with a quicker Burst recharge rate.

Lauma Bloom Team

Lauma Bloom teams can also benefit from Aino. She, alongside Nilou, can be great for Hydro application on enemies, making it easier to trigger Bloom consistently.

Aino’s F2P Friendly Team — Alternative Taser Teams

OroronFischlSucroseAinoDecent

For Aino’s F2P team, we have decided to go with an alternative taser variant. This team features Fishcl and Ororon as the electro driver, while Sucrose does resistance shred, and Aino applies Hydro. This team won’t achieve much in the end-game challenges, but it can still hold its own in normal fights.

Genshin Impact Aino Build: Kit, Rotations, Talents & Constellations

Aino is a fairly simple character to play in Genshin Impact. Here is a quick overview on Aino’s kit, rotations, talents, and constellations.

Genshin Impact Aino Kit Rotation

Burst > Swap > Repeat

For Aino’s rotation, simply use her Burst to apply hydro on enemies and then swap to the other characters. That’s about it when it comes to Aino’s rotation in the game. You don’t really need to use her Skill or Normal attacks, as they don’t do much damage in the first place.

Genshin Impact Aino Moonsign

Now, let’s take a look at Aino’s moonsign, which is the new Nod-krai character-specific abilities.

  • Ascendant Gleam: Increases the range and fire rate of the Hydro attacks from her Burst’s summon. This allows faster Hydro application in the area.

Genshin Impact Aino Kit Explanation

Here is a quick look at Aino’s kit in Genshin Impact. Read this section to understand what Aino’s abilities do in the game.

  • Aino’s Normal Attack: Normal attack combos, nothing special.
  • Aino’s Elemental Skills: She deals minor AoE Hydro damage.
  • Aino’s Elemental Burst: Periodically shoots water in an area, consistently applies Hydro on enemies while dealing damage.
  • Aino’s Passives: Increases Party’s moonsign by 1, has increased range on her Burst, increased elemental damage, displays local Nod-krai materials on the map, and can alter the Cool Your Jets Ducky’s appearance.

Genshin Impact Aino Talent and Constellations

Talent and ConstellationsDetails
Bish-Bash-Bosh Repair
(Normal Attack)
Normal Attack: Performs up to 3 consecutive strikes.
Charged Attack: Drains Stamina over time to perform continuous spinning attacks against all nearby opponents. At the end of the sequence, she performs a more powerful slash.
Plunging Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
Musecatcher
(Elemental Skill)
– Aino throws a Musecatcher forward, dealing Hydro DMG and dragging her along behind it. When the dragging stops, Aino deals AoE Hydro DMG to nearby opponents. Holding the Skill will cause it to behave differently.
Hold: Enter Aiming Mode to adjust the Musecatcher’s throwing direction.
Precision Hydronic Cooler
(Elemental Burst)
Aino deploys a custom water-spraying device, the Cool Your Jets Ducky to establish a Focused Hydronic Cooling Zone. While active, the Cool Your Jets Ducky will periodically fire water balls at nearby opponents, dealing Hydro DMG.
Moonsign Benediction: Force Limit Analysis
(Passive 1)
When Aino is in the party, the party’s Moonsign will increase by 1 level.
Modular Efficiency Protocol
(Passive 2)
– Aino will be granted the corresponding buff effects based on the party’s Moonsign.
Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam: Her Elemental Precision Hydronic Cooler is enhanced: The Cool Your Jets Ducky will fire water balls more frequently, and the water balls will deal AoE Hydro DMG over a larger area of effect.
Structured Power Booster
(Passive 3)
Aino’s Elemental Burst DMG is increased by 50% of her Elemental Mastery.
Miniaturized Detection Sensor
(Passive 4)
Displays the location of nearby resources unique to Nod-Krai on the mini-map. Additionally, Aino appears to be able to alter the Cool Your Jets Ducky’s appearance in some way…
The Theory of Ash–Field Equilibrium
(C1)
After Aino uses her Elemental Skill Musecatcher or her Elemental Burst Precision Hydronic Cooler, her Elemental Mastery will be increased by 80. The Elemental Mastery of nearby active party members will be increased by 80 for 15s. The Elemental Mastery-increasing effects of this Constellation do not stack.
The Principle of Transference in Gear Differentials
(C2)
If Aino is off-field while the Focused Hydronic Cooling Zone of her Elemental Burst Precision Hydronic Cooler is active, when your active party member hits a nearby opponent with an attack, the Cool Your Jets Ducky will fire an additional water ball at that opponent, dealing AoE Hydro DMG equal to 25% of Aino’s ATK and 100% of her Elemental Mastery. This DMG is considered Elemental Burst DMG. This effect can be triggered once every 5s.
Cake and the Art of Mechanism Repair
(C3)
Increases Elemental Burst Level by 3
Butter and Cats and the Law of Energy Supply
(C4)
When the Elemental Skill Musecatcher hits an opponent, it will restore 10 Elemental Energy for Aino. Energy can be restored to her in this manner once every 10s.
Perpetual Turbine of Metal and Light
(C5)
Increases Elemental Skill Level by 3
The Burden of Creative Genius
(C6)
For the next 15s after using the Elemental Burst Precision Hydronic Cooler, DMG from nearby active characters’ Electro-Charged, Bloom, Lunar-Charged, and Lunar-Bloom reactions is increased by 15%. Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam: DMG from the aforementioned reactions will be further increased by 20%.

So, that’s it. Now you know how to properly build Aino in Genshin Impact. Although she is not a strong character, being free makes her a worthwhile Nod-Krai support. If you get her Constellation 6, then I would recommend looking forward to building her. Let us know your opinions on Aino, and also mention your favorite characters from the update.
