With Chapter 7 Season 3 winding down, Mark Rein, co-founder of Epic Games, has revealed the teaser word for the upcoming Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 titled Override. As part of his seasonal tradition, Rein announced that his teaser word for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 is ‘Hackers’.
In the cryptic X post, Mark Rein seemingly confirmed that the word ‘Hackers’ will tie into the rumored gaming legends theme of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4. Given that the season is essentially confirmed to revolve around video games, this word does not seem like a no-brainer.
There’s a good chance the Epic Games co-founder is hinting at a possible game mechanic with the new teaser word, much as he did with Skyzips for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2. Players might be able to use some items or a mechanic to hack enemy players during a match, possibly taking away their HUD or slowing them down.
Additionally, Hackers might also be hinting at the upcoming map changes in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4. We might see cyber-themed POIs like Mega City and high-tech weapons make an appearance in the Fortnite loot pool in the upcoming season, some of which might tie into the potential hacking mechanic.
However, remember that this is purely speculation as of now, and nothing is confirmed until Epic says so. With Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 releasing on August 20, 2026, players are already excited about crossover leaks, right from Sonic to Pac-Man coming to the game.
Thankfully, Epic has already planned the Unstable Story Moment as the next Fortnite live event for August 15, and it is more than likely to lay the foundation for Chapter 7 Season 4: Override.
