The next Fortnite live event is the Unstable Story Moment live event, and it will take place on August 15, 2026. The event will reportedly not be a fully fledged live event. However, it will close out Chapter 7 Season 3 and lay the foundation for the gaming-themed Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4.
Players can expect to see a retro aesthetic during the live event, which is said to feature players getting “hacked” and “rebooted” afterwards. The event will also have an ‘aftermath’ on the Chapter 7 Season 3 map. It is also possible that characters like Jonesy and Dark Voyager make an appearance during the event in some capacity.

Joining a Fortnite live event is relatively simple. Epic Games typically sends an in-game announcement and a social media post announcing that the live event is underway. You can then load into Fortnite Battle Royale and find the playlist for the live event in your library. It is recommended that you load into a match at least 30 minutes before the event is set to happen. This is because lobbies fill up extremely quickly during major events.
It is also important to remember that Epic Games usually disables all of the other playlists for major live events. Once you join a major live event’s playlist, you might find yourself without a weapon.
