Everything Coming to Arc Raiders Frozen Trail Update

The Frozen Trail update is turning the extraction shooter into Arc Raiders 2.0, with the developers introducing a plethora of new content and changes to existing systems. New Map: Pendola Pass

The new map coming to the game in the Arc Raiders Frozen Trail update is called Pendola Pass. Players will have to investigate a signal coming from a fallen emperor ARC beyond the rust belt. So, get ready to explore places other raiders haven’t set foot in before.

Pendola Pass is described as an old Italian village and Exodus transport hub. The map is home to a variety of locations, including abandoned villages, factories, research facilities, an observatory, a supermarket, and a lifeless town square.

Players can even explore inside the dead Emperor ARC, which is said to contain valuable and rare technology. So be ready to explore a massive map where you will have to survive the cold and face off against new ARC enemies, which we will discuss in more detail below.

New ARC Enemies

Embark Studios hasn’t yet confirmed whether players can fight against the Emperor, the biggest ARC enemy, in the upcoming update. However, three new ARC enemies in Arc Raiders are set to haunt raiders in the Frozen Trail update.

Bully

Following the launch of the passive ARC Turbine enemy in Arc Raiders, the developers are introducing an all-out aggressive ARC called the Bully. The new ARC is modeled after a raging bull and won’t stop until it crushes you to death. Devs recommend taking cover and fighting the new Bully from a distance.

Skulker

The second new ARC enemy is called the Skulker. It should have been named Stalker, as this ARC can hide in bushes or behind buildings, waiting for the right opportunity to strike the raiders. In addition, a Skulker can escape in the middle of a fight and come back again to hunt you at the most unexpected time.

Hydra

The turret-type ARC enemies, like the Sentinel in Arc Raiders, are the worst foes you can fight in the game, as they can melt your health in no time. Now, a new turret-based ARC enemy, Hydra, is coming to the game in the Frozen Trail update. This new turret ARC has three layers and can be found in the Frigate. Each section can fire rapidly at the same time and keep raiders at bay.

New Weapons

To face off against the new ARC enemies, two new Arc Raiders weapons are being added to the game in the upcoming update:

Stiletto

Stiletto is the new Battle Rifle after Aphelion in Arc Raiders, but it uses light ammo instead of Energy Clips. It is designed to be an early-game alternative to the popular lever-action rifle, Renegade. So, of course, it is much cheaper and easier to build. It is built for long-range fights, and Embark recommends timing each shot rather than firing all at once.

Bantam

Anvil continues to be one of the best weapons in Arc Raiders. Now, the game is adding a new revolver, Bantam. Devs claim that the new revolver can replace Anvil as the fan-favorite handgun in Arc Raiders. This revolver also has a special hip-fire mode. Fortunately, Bantam can be used against both ARC enemies and hostile raiders.

Amplified Weapons

If you feel like two new weapons aren’t enough, we have more good news. Arc Raiders is revamping its weapon upgrade system in the Frozen Trail update. Players can customize a set of Arc Raiders weapons as they wish. If you want a Renegade with a scope, or a Rattler with incendiary bullets, you can now make one at the new Research Workstation available at your Outpost.

Only 15 weapons can be customized at launch of the Arc Raiders Frozen Trail update. Embark describes the new upgrades as basically the fifth quality level. More high-tier weapon upgrades will be added later.

New Gadgets

If you were worried about traversing the cold and harsher terrains of the Pendola Pass map, these new gadgets in Arc Raiders might come in handy:

Grappling Hook

In addition to the Snap Hook, the Frozen Trail update will add a Grappling Hook. This new traversal gadget can help you climb to the tops of buildings and mountains, swing across places, and more. So, let us wait and see how players use it creatively to tackle giant ARCs as well.

Tether Launcher

Tether Launcher is a new gadget that lets you shoot wire and tether it to anything. Therefore, it is another creative gadget players can have fun with, whether they attach themselves to a flying ARC enemy like Vaporizer in Arc Raiders or pull a camping raider from their cover during a fight.

Camera

The final new gadget coming to the game is unique, and it is none other than a camera. Previously, several raiders used Binoculars to take in-game images. Now, players can freely use the cam to take pictures and even selfies with ARCs. This essentially serves as the photo mode players have been waiting for since Arc Raiders’ launch.

Outposts

Say goodbye to your old Raider Dens! As you move to the new Pendola Pass region, the raider den is transformed into an Outpost. Players can customize and decorate the new space as they wish with furniture and workstations.

Frigate

If you were looking forward to visiting the fallen Emperor, watch out for a massive flying ship in the same area that will be on patrol duty. The Frigate is said to hold many valuable items, but it is a complex arena where players must crack puzzles, take down new ARCs, and also battle fellow raiders to claim the prize. So, this challenge is purely for skilled Arc Raider veterans.

Instruments

The guitar was such a hit among raiders. So, Embark is doubling down on instruments with a new Harmonica and Banjo. Players can grab these musical instrument blueprints out in the wilds and craft them after the Frozen Trail update goes live.

Weapon Stencils

In addition to customizing weapons, players can also now freely alter their favorite weapon’s skins using Weapon Stencils. This new item is available in the new Reward Pass coming to the game in the Frozen Trail update.

Reward Pass

Embark is getting rid of the old Battle Pass and introducing the Reward Pass in the upcoming update. Players can either go with the Free Pass or spend some extra cash to get the Premium Pass.

• Free Pass in Arc Raiders includes 200 Raider Tokens, five new outfits, new gameplay items, 20 cosmetic items, Scrappy Outfits, furniture, charms, Arc Raiders weapon attachments, and emotes. 
• On the other hand, the Premium Pass includes premium toggles for all outfits, exclusive colorways, weapon stencils, hairstyles, and 1,150 Raider Tokens. 

Finally, players can also purchase the new Collector Set DLC, which is packed with both the free and premium Reward Pass, a new cosmetic set: the Renzo, Dragon’s Breath Weapon Stencil, Bob Hairstyle, and 2,400 Raider Tokens.
