Arc Raiders Hydra Location
As mentioned earlier, Hydra ARCs are one of the newest ARC enemies introduced in the Arc Raiders Frozen Trail update. Unlike the other new ARC threats, Hydra cannot be found in open spaces. Instead, Hydra can only be found atop the new Frigate vessel in Arc Raiders as well as inside the Fallen Emperor’s dungeon.
So, if you want to face off against the Hydra ARC, then make sure to head to either a map with ARC Frigate condition or the new Pendola Pass map in Arc Raiders.

First, Hydra is a stationary ARC enemy in Arc Raiders, just like the other turret-based enemies in the game. But don’t underestimate this ARC threat’s firepower, as it can easily kill you in seconds. Hydra is a combination of three autonomous turrets and is capable of firing in all directions.

Best Loadout to Kill a Hydra ARC Enemy in Arc Raiders
Here is what we recommend taking in your loadout before you fight against the Hydra in Arc Raiders:
- Shield and Augment: It is best to go with a medium shield or even a heavy shield, so pick up an appropriate augment in Arc Raiders that has medium and heavy shield slots
- Weapons: As usual, Arc Raiders weapons with very strong and strong ARC penetration are necessary against Hydra. So, Hullcracker, Equalizer, Bettina, Anvil, etc. are needed to take out Hydra.
- Healing Items: You need a lot of premium bandages like Herbal or Sterile, and a good amount of shield rechargers are required, as you need to heal and recharge your shields most of the time.
- Grenades and Gadgets: We don’t recommend throwing grenades at the Hydra, as you will become vulnerable when throwing them. Instead, pick the Photoelectric Cloak and Barricade Kit gadgets in Arc Raiders, as you need to make your own cover both on the Frigate and inside the Fallen Emperor.

The Hydra can’t move from its position, but it’s split into three stacked autonomous portions to shoot in multiple directions. So a Hydra can single-handedly deal with multiple squads at once. So, here are the best tips and tricks to take on Hydra in Arc Raiders:
- Prioritize Finding Cover: Once you spot a Hydra emerge from the ground, quickly find cover nearby or set up your Barricade.
- Distract the ARC: Ask your teammates to distract the Hydra and get its attention, which will create an opening for you to attack.
- Exploit its Weakness: Whenever there is a chance, try to get behind the ARC threat, as its weakness is its unarmored backside. You can quickly eliminate it by repeated firing at its backplate.
- Keep Firing: If you cannot get behind the ARC, you can still keep shooting its front whenever there is an opening, but keep in mind that this method will take some time.
- Meleeing to Death: There is another popular method to tackle Hydra. You can either use Photoelectric Cloak or Barricade kit to get very close to the Hydra. Once you get close to it, it cannot fire at you. So, pick up your Raider Tool and keep smashing it until it gets destroyed.
The cheese strategy may not work at all times. But it is ultimately useful if you run out of ammo or want to quickly defeat the Hydra.
Arc Raiders Hydra Loot and Rewards
In case you didn’t know before, Hydra doesn’t contain a unique drop unlike other ARC enemies in th e game. So, here is a list of all the items you can obtain from the Hydra in Arc Raiders:
