The yellow damage color in Diablo 4 is tied to critical damage. Critical damage is a special attack that increases your base damage output tenfold. This attack type is randomized and depends on your critical strike chance stat.

Critical Strike chance, as the name suggests, determines the frequency of your attacks being critical strikes. So, for example, if your critical strike chance is 5%, attacks may deal critical damage by 50%, multiplying your base damage output. Overpower damage in the game is represented by the blue color. These are attacks that you deal with equal to the total of your in-game character’s life and fortified life. The chance to deal overpowered damage is just 3% and stats cannot increase this number. However, few skills ensure that your attacks deal overpowered damage in Diablo 4.

The final damage color in Diablo 4, which is orange, is tied to the Critical overpower damage. Much like critical damage, if your attack does overpower damage and is also a critical hit, the game shows that number in orange color.
