Deadlock has a sweet balance of easy and hard-to-learn heroes. While many will call Seven a noob-stomper, I believe that with the right items in your inventory, you can become a shocking menace. With his ultimate nerfed significantly, the play style has changed as well. That said, here is the only Deadlock Seven build guide you will need to get thunderous applause from both your teammates and enemies.

Best Laning/Early Game Items
500 Souls | 500 Souls | 500 Souls | 500 Souls | 500 Souls | 500 Souls | 500 Souls |

Early games with Seven can be pretty straightforward. You have a strong first ability that can clear out waves or dish out enemy HP quickly. Get the Extra Charge item right away to increase your charges for the first skill. Get the Basic Magazine to get an early boost of ammo. If the enemy is trying to pinch you down, Restorative Shot can help you stay alive while you counterattack.
You can also get the Extra Regen and Enduring Spirit to further increase your survivability. Remember, Seven already deals a lot of spirit damage, so the more stay alive the more you can farm and annoy enemy heroes.
In case the enemies are out farming or pushing down your lane more, you must get two situational items. Healing Rite will help you stay in the lane more while it can also give you the chance to save teammates in some instances. You can also get the Infuser to deal more spirit damage to enemies and possibly gain more kills in the early stages.
Best Core/Mid-game Items
1250 Souls | 1250 Souls | 1250 Souls | 1250 Souls | 3500 Souls | 1250 Souls | 3000 Souls | 4250 Souls |

Seven’s third skill can deal massive spirit damage with every bullet you shoot. Get the Soul Shredder Bullets, Mystic Shot, and Bullet Resist Shredder as your first core items. All these items cost only 1250 souls. Once you get them, combined with your third ability, they can melt down enemies in seconds.
Once the hitting potential is unlocked, get Spirit Lifesteal immediately. As most of your damage is Spirit-based, this will come in real handy. Moreover, get the Improved Spirit and Duration Extender right after them. The extended duration will help you upgrade your stun and lightning ball while an early spirit increase will increase your overall movement speed and damage.
If you are having a tough game where you cannot hit enemies much, some situational items can help you out. Getting a Majestic Leap can get you the much-needed elevation to perform your ultimate. On the other hand, if you are getting the freedom to shoot more bullets, getting the Mystic Slow early can increase your chance to slow down your enemies further as you already slow them using your electric ball.
Best Luxury/Late Game Items
6200 Souls | 3000 Souls | 3000 Souls | 3000 Souls | 3500 Souls | 1250 Souls | 3000 Souls | 3000 Souls |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
The first item you must get just as you enter the late game is Leech. With you already having good damage from both weapon and spirit items, the lifesteal you get from it can be massive. At the same time, you can upgrade your early and core items to Rapid Recharge and Superior Duration. Right after the upgrades, get a Superior Cooldown to reduce the cooldown of your Lightning Ball.
If you have not unlocked any Flex slots by you reach the later half of the game, you can switch the Extra Regen and Enduring Spirit for two cheap but effective vitality items. As Seven is a fight-centric hero, you can get Superior Stamina and Healbane in late-game. With every kill secured, you will get a health benefit to continue fighting with the Healbane. Moreover, it will reduce the enemy’s healing rate as all of your damage involves spirit power.
Similarly, you must also swap out the Basic Magazine and Restorative Shot in the late stages. The ideal weapon items to swap them with are Alchemical Fire and Warp Stone. You can spam the Alchemical Fire to deal more spirit damage to combine it with your healbane and other abilities. On the other hand, you can get Warp Stone depending on the situation to get in or out of fights easily.
Seven Situational/Flex Slot Items
3000 Souls | 6200 Souls | 7450 Souls | 3500 Souls | 6200 Souls | 6200 Souls | 3500 Souls |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
As Seven if spirit-first hero, you do not need weapon items for your flex slots. You can infuse Surge of Power with your third skill to get loads of spirit damage per bullet while gaining massive movement speed. Moreover, once all four of your flex slots are opened, get Boundless Spirit, Escalating Exposure, and Improved Reach as the must-build items.
In case you can deal a lot of bullet damage during your third ability activation, get a Spiritual Overflow to increase it further. As it increases your fire rate and spirit power, you can easily chunk out a ton of spirit damage from your other abilities too. This will help you silent enemies with each bullet you hit. You can also get Unstoppable if the game is going on for too long and dying can risk you the game. This will let you immediately get rid of all stun or control abilities.
In some cases, you might have to play focused on your ultimate. For that, you can get rid of Bullet Resist Shredder and Surge of Power to get Improved Burst. This item will deal more spirit damage depending on the enemy’s max health.
Deadlock Seven Build: Abilities and Unlock Order
Although items are crucial, without knowing about the abilities, you will feel clueless about Seven. He is dependent on all his ability kit so it is important to understand when you must use a certain skill. Here is an overview of all Seven abilities and in which Ability Point Order you must unlock them:
All Seven Abilities
- Lightning Ball: Cast a lightning spell that shoots a bolt in a direct line. The bolt damages all creatures within its area, causing them to move slower. It stops upon contact with the ground or a surface.
- Level 1: +1 Charge
- Level 2: +40% Movement slow
- Level 3: +70 Damage Per Second
- Static Charge: Apply a static charge to a target enemy hero. After a short time, the charge explodes, stunning and dealing damage to enemies in the area.
- Level 1: -20 second Cooldown
- Level 2: +8 meter radius
- Level 3: +1.1 second Stun duration
- Power Surge: Equip your weapon with a shock charge. Each burst shot will trigger a shock effect, dealing damage to the target and nearby enemies.
- Level 1: Shock Damage applies -15% Spirit Resist for 8 seconds
- Level 2: -16 second Cooldown
- Level 3: +12 Shock Damage, improved Spirit scaling, and +3 Max jumps
- Storm Cloud: Stop in the location of casting and channel a spreading storm cloud that strikes enemies in its path. Enemies are immune if they are not in direct view.
- Level 1: +35% Bullet Resist while channeling Storm Cloud
- Level 2: +7 second channel time and +10 meter radius
- Level 3: +75 Damage Per Second
Best Seven Ability Point Order
Seven can scale spirit damage massively according to how well your laning phase goes. So, to maximize your farm potential, level up both Lightning Ball and Power Surge early. While these abilities can help you in farming significantly faster, you can also combine these with your teammates who have stun or knockdown abilities. Seven can build toward aggressive spirit items thanks to all of his abilities dealing massive damage in Deadlock.
Just like in the Wraith build, Seven’s second is not that important in the early game. However, once you have your Lightning Ball and Power Surge maxed out, go for it immediately. You can prioritize Static Charge over the ultimate due to its massive stun duration in level 3.
As you will always play proactively, using ultimate in the middle of a fight can be a disadvantage. However, if you are going for an ultimate build, you can go slow on the Power Surge and focus on upgrading Storm Cloud. Just make sure you are not the only one in a fight using the ultimate. Enemies can shut you down easily and you will have no use once your ultimate is over.
