The Indian variant comes with the 3rd-gen Ryzen 5 3500U which is manufactured on the 12nm fabrication process. On the other hand, the US variant packs the latest Ryzen 5 4600U processor.

Keep in mind, the U-series chips are generally slower than H-series chips, but you will get much battery life with the former. Apart from that, both variants offer 512GB SSD, 8GB of RAM, integrated Radeon Vega 8 graphics, and more.

On the US variant, you also get a fingerprint sensor so that is great. All in all, I would say, if you are in the market looking for an entry-level Ryzen laptop that decimates the equivalent Intel chips then Acer Aspire 3 is the one you should pick.

2. Asus VivoBook 14

Under the VivoBook 14 series, Asus has launched multiple Ryzen laptops in various configurations and at different price points. My first recommendation is obviously the entry-level Asus VivoBook 14 Ryzen 5 variant that packs the 3rd-gen 3500U processor. It brings 8GB of RAM and 512GB of NVMe SSD which is just amazing.

Apart from that, you have got integrated Vega graphics which is quite good. There is also the VivoBook S14 that brings the 4th-gen Ryzen 5 4500U processor but it costs around 60K which is not a good value for money so I am not recommending it.

Having said all of that, if your budget allows you to push a bit then simply pick the Ryzen 7 variant of Asus VivoBook 14 over other laptops. It features the latest 4th-gen Ryzen 7 Octa-Core processor (4700U) and the clock speed can go up to 4.1GHz which is nothing sort of amazing. In fact, it simply crushes Intel i7 10th-gen in benchmark numbers and synthetic tests.

On top of that, you are getting Radeon R3, fingerprint sensor, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of NVMe SSD. Simply put, if you want to get a powerful Ryzen laptop below 60K then there is no better option than Asus VivoBook 14 (Ryzen 7 variant). Just bear in mind, this laptop is not the best in terms of gaming.

3. Honor MagicBook 15

Honor MagicBook 15 is by far the most anticipated laptop in India right now. It costs around 42K and brings Ryzen 5 to the table. Sure, the processor is 3rd-gen, but it’s manufactured on the same Zen architecture so you will definitely get good performance and better battery life.

In addition, you get 8GB of RAM, 256GB of PCIe SSD which is just amazing, and an integrated AMD Radeon Vega 8 GPU. Not to mention, the design of the laptop is pretty slick with narrow bezels and a body carved in aluminium.

4. HP ENVY x360

If you are based out of the US and need an affordable Ryzen laptop then HP Envy x360 is the perfect pick. It comes in a premium and convertible body and features the latest AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor. On top of that, you are getting 128GB of SSD storage (goes up to 512GB), 8GB of RAM, and a beautiful FHD IPS display.

Keep in mind, this one does not come with a dedicated graphics card but features an integrated Radeon GPU. Simply put, at $659, the HP Envy x360 is a steal and a perfect companion for students and general users.

5. Lenovo Flex 5

Lenovo Flex 5 is another solid Ryzen laptop for students and general users in the US. If the HP Envy x360 does not cut it for you then I would highly recommend Lenovo Flex 5. It features the latest Ryzen 5 4500U processor with a humongous 16GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage.

And as the name suggests, the Flex 5 comes in a convertible body just like the HP Envy x360. What I love about this laptop is that the screen is Full HD which means, even at this price point, Lenovo is not cutting corners. In tandem, the Lenovo Flex 5 is a complete laptop and you simply can’t go wrong with it.

Acer Aspire 7 is considered among the best Ryzen laptops in India. Sure, it features the older 3rd-gen processor, but you are getting a top-of-the-line Ryzen 7 3750H chip. Mind you, this one features the H-series chip which can draw power up to 35W which essentially means that you will get powerful performance.

If you compare it with Intel Core i7 8750H then you would find that Aspire 7 offers much better performance at significantly less cost. Other than that, to make your gaming performance even better, it features Nvidia Geforce GTX 1650 with 4GB of VRAM. To sum up, if you don’t mind a bit older chip then Acer Aspire 7 is a great Ryzen laptop, especially at Rs. 60,000.

7. HP Pavilion Gaming

HP Pavilion Gaming is one of my favorite Ryzen laptops on this list and you must give it a look if you are looking for an affordable gaming laptop. It comes with the latest Ryzen 5 4600H processor coupled with 8GB of RAM, 256GB of PCIe SSD, and 1TB of HDD. In addition, the display is now a 144Hz panel which is absolutely great.

Not to mention, the HP Pavilion Gaming features NVIDIA GTX 1650 having 4GB of VRAM. And all this costs you just around Rs. 72K which is an amazing value for money. And in case, you want to upgrade the RAM in the future then you can do so and make it up to 16GB.

That was all about the 2020 variant of HP Pavilion Gaming, but if you want a cheaper option then go for the last year’s model. It features the 3rd-gen Ryzen 5 3550H processor and lacks a high refresh rate panel. Apart from that, the laptop comes only with 1TB HDD, but there is an extra slot available for a PCIe SSD which can be configured up to 1TB.

8. ASUS TUF Gaming A15 / A17

If you are looking for a Ryzen-based gaming laptop then you must take a look at Asus’ TUF series. The company just updated the specs of A15 and A17 with the latest processors. Both Asus TUF Gaming A15 and A17 feature the powerful Ryzen 7 4800H processor and it comes in 8 cores.

For comparison, the 10th-gen Intel Core i7 10750H scores 1312 in the multicore Cinebench test and the Ryzen 7 4800H tops with 1854 score. Simply put, the 4th-gen Ryzen processor is a beast and it’s great that Asus has brought the latest Ryzen CPU to India this fast.

Apart from that, both A15 and A17 feature almost similar specs such as 144Hz display panel, 256GB of NVMe storage, 1TB HDD, dual-fan cooling system, and more. That said, there are two major differences between A15 and A17: you get 16GB of RAM and the monstrous NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti with 6GB of VRAM on the A17.

On A15, you have to be content with the slightly less powerful NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 and 4GB of VRAM. To conclude, you are getting an Octa-core Ryzen processor with a dedicated graphics card at a starting price of 75K. I think you can’t ask for more.

9. Acer Nitro 5

Acer Nitro 5 is another Ryzen-based gaming laptop that is giving a stiff competition to the Asus TUF series. The Nitro 5 packs very similar features to the Asus TUF A15: Ryzen 7 Octa-Core processor (4800H), 8GB of RAM, 256GB NVMe SSD, 1TB HDD, and NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1650 with 4GB of VRAM. That said, on the Nitro 5, you don’t get a high refresh-rate display panel which is a bummer for gamers.

Nevertheless, for what you are paying, Acer Nitro 5 seems to be a solid gaming laptop since you are getting the unmatched Ryzen 7 4800H with 8 cores. Also, the Nitro series has done really well in the past so you can put your money on this machine without any second thoughts.

10. ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DT

The ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DT was an instant hit last year with solid internals and fast performance. It came with the 3rd-gen Ryzen 5 3550H processor, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of PCIe SSD. What made this laptop even more compelling was that it packed the Nvidia GTX 1650 with 4GB of VRAM. And that’s not all, you also got a FHD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate display.

Basically, there is everything you need for high-graphics gaming, and for a price of 61K, it’s a steal.  The only downside is that it comes with a 3rd-gen processor, but if you are okay with it then ASUS TUF Gaming FX505DT will prove to be a solid and affordable Ryzen-based gaming laptop.

11. ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 / G15

If you are from the US then the ASUS ROG Zephyrus series offers some of the best Ryzen laptops, especially for gamers. The G14 is also one of the few laptops on this list that comes with the most powerful AMD Ryzen 9 processor (4900HS). The HS-series is usually reserved for gamers and professionals who need high processing power.

Apart from that, it features 16GB of RAM, 1TB of PCIe SSD, and a dedicated NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q graphics card having 6GB of VRAM. The only con is that it does not feature a high refresh-rate panel which is very disappointing given that it packs such powerful specs.

In case, you need a high refresh-rate display with the latest specs then take a look at the recently launched, ROG Zephyrus G15. It comes with a 240Hz FHD display, Ryzen 7 4800HS processor, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of PCIe storage.

You also get NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 coupled with 6GB of VRAM. In India, you have the Ryzen 5 variant of the G14, but it costs much more than a similar-specced laptop so I won’t recommend it. However, if you want, you can check it out from the link below.

12. HP Omen

HP Omen is another Ryzen-based gaming laptop that competes with its own Pavilion Gaming. Omen features the 4th-gen Ryzen 5 Hexa Core processor (4600H), 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of PCIe SSD. The only major difference is that HP Omen does not come with a high refresh rate panel.

But that is mostly compensated by the fact that it features the mighty NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1650 Ti which is generally not seen in this price segment. Also, the keyboard is backlit and the display is excellent with support for dual 5K external monitors. So if you want a Ryzen laptop with a powerful graphics card then HP Omen is your best bet.

13. Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3

The Ideapad Gaming 3 is another Ryzen laptop from the house of Lenovo, but it’s currently limited to India only. Similar to other laptops in this price range, the Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 features the 4th-gen Ryzen 5 (4600H) and brings 256GB SSD, 1TB HDD, and 8GB of RAM.

Again, there is no higher refresh rate panel, but you get the powerful NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1650 Ti having 4GB of dedicated VRAM. To sum up, if you intend to connect a high refresh rate monitor to the Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 then it can offer you a great gaming experience.

14. HUAWEI MateBook D

Huawei MateBook D is a great Ryzen laptop and you can get it if you are based out of the UK. The MateBook D features the 3rd-gen Ryzen 5 3500U processor coupled with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD. The main highlight of this laptop is its amazing FHD screen and build quality.

You have got a FullView display that has almost zero bezels, comes in an aluminum body, features a  fingerprint reader, and brings 65W USB-C fast charging. In tandem, the Huawei MateBook D seems very similar to the Honor MagicBook 15 launched in India. All I would say is, Huawei MateBook D is a great Ryzen laptop for general consumers and you should definitely give it a look.

15. Microsoft Surface Laptop 3

If you are someone who wants a well-built and carefully-designed laptop, but with Ryzen internals then Microsoft has you covered with its Surface lineup. Last year, along with the Intel variants, Microsoft also launched Surface 3 with Ryzen chips under the hood. The Surface 3 packs the 3rd-gen Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 processors (3580U) coupled with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD.

By the way, you can configure the RAM up to 32GB and the storage up to 1TB. That said, keep in mind, all Ryzen variants come in 15-inch screen size and start at $1200 which in my opinion is a big ask for a generation-old processor. Nevertheless, if you like Surface products and Microsoft’s craftsmanship then Surface 3 will not disappoint you.
