Now it is time for anime fans to head into the fall 2025 anime season in full swing. Here are our curated picks for the final anime season of the year that are easily the must-watch fall anime in 2025.

  • Release Date: October 4, 2025
  • Where to Stream:  Prime Video
  • Studio: Science SARU

Last season, Science SARU delivered one of the best anime adaptations, Dandadan. Now, they are back again with another adaptation of Sanda by Paru Itagaki, the creator of Beastars. Sanda sounds much like Santa, right? You are not wrong, as this anime revolves around a descendant of Santa, and it takes place in a dystopian Japan.

While Beastars is well known in the animanga communities, Sanda is relatively underrated. But it’s time for Science SARU to transform its popularity status. The first episode was promising, and we do not doubt that Sanda is the dark horse title of the fall 2025 anime season.

Hinako Yaotose is a High School girl who leads a depressed life. One day, she decides to become prey to a mermaid monster to end her life. However, the mermaid Shiori Oumi changes her mind to protect Hinako until she becomes an exquisite meal for her. Now, that perfectly sums up the strange title of this anime.

Although the plot sounds like it’s a mystery/thriller anime, it isn’t the case, as this anime is actually a Seinen Yuri (aka Girls Love) anime title. Reina Ueda (Reze in Chainsaw Man), Yui Ishikawa (Mikasa in AOT), and Ai Fairouz (Power in Chainsaw Man) play the main characters in this Girls Love anime. So, if you feel like you haven’t watched a Yuri anime in a while, This Monster Wants to Eat Me will keep you hooked.

Picking up from the series left, the third season adapts the Friendship Schemes and Red Circus arcs. Thus, the most anticipated reveal of Twilight, aka Loid’s backstory, will happen in the ongoing season 3.
