The Game Awards rarely misses when it comes to exciting game reveals. There’s no better example of this than last year’s broadcast, which saw the announcement of highly anticipated titles such as Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, The Witcher 4, and many others. This hot streak looks poised to continue in 2025 as some interesting announcements have already been confirmed, with leaks teasing tantalizing others.

To keep you in the loop and help adjust your expectations, we’ve put together the eight most anticipated announcements we expect to see at the Game Awards 2025.

1. Mystery Statue Announcement

Let’s kick things off with the mysterious statues that have players speculating anxiously. Both of these images were shared by Geoff Keighley, accompanied by vague descriptions that point towards nothing in particular. While we can say for sure that the sculptures are linked to a game reveal, it’s impossible to tell exactly what game or IP it is. The community’s best guesses in Diablo and God of War were both shot down by reliable sources, leaving PlayStation’s Saros as the most likely answer.

With that being said, a string of leaks has suggested that the statues are linked to a new release by Larian. The acclaimed studio behind Baldur’s Gate 3 certainly has the calibre to warrant a reveal such as this. As for the game itself, sources claim that it’s set to be Divinity: Original Sin III.

2. Half-Life 3

Sniff your freshest batch of hopium, guys, for there is the slightest of chances that we could see Half-Life 3 at the Game Awards. As crazy as that sounds, recent leaks have suggested that the game is indeed real and could be released as a launch title for Valve’s Steam Machine. As with anything concerning Half-Life 3, take these rumors with a grain of salt. Although if we’re looking at the timing, it’s hard to imagine a better launch title for your brand-new console.

3. Tomb Raider

Gaming’s most iconic heroine, Lara Croft, is all set to be present at the Game Awards, with official sources confirming that a new Tomb Raider game will be showcased at the event. Details surrounding her latest adventures are yet to be confirmed, but we do know that the game utilizes Unreal Engine 5 and has been in development at Crystal Dynamics since 2022.

4. God of War Egypt Spinoff

Rumors from earlier this year claimed that a God of War spinoff set in Egypt was in development at Sony Santa Monica. Subsequent reporting stated that the game is a Metroidvania that uses a 2.5D perspective and stars Kratos’ brother, Deimos, in the leading role. It’s impossible to gauge the credibility of these leaks, but considering it’s been over three years since the franchise’s last outing, a new God of War certainly makes sense.

If the rumors end up being true, we’re in for an old-school GOW that will supposedly carry the hallmarks of the PS2 classics.

5. Control 2

Back in March 2025, Remedy confirmed that Control 2, the sequel to the 2019 hit, had entered full production. Seeing as it’s been over six years since the original’s release, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to expect a reveal trailer, at the very least. Moreover, Remedy has showcased new announcements at the Game Awards and even the Summer Games Fest in the past, so it would make sense for the studio to use Keighley’s platform once again.

Speaking of Remedy, there has been no shortage of rumors surrounding their in-development Max Payne remake. However, that title will be published by Rockstar, which has never done reveals at major events. So, you can erase this one from your bingo card.

6. OD Release Date and Trailer 2

You don’t need us to tell you that Hideo Kojima will be present at the Game Awards in some capacity. The video game auteur will likely take to the stage to share new details about one of multiple ongoing projects, and the most likely contender is OD. The ‘Knock’ teaser, which was revealed just a few months ago, is still frightening fans to this day, and there’s no better way to keep the momentum going than by sharing something at the Game Awards.

7. Resident Evil Requiem

Resident Evil Requiem is all but confirmed to be present at the Game Awards. Capcom will likely use the event to finally reveal gaming’s worst-kept secret and share a first look at Leon S. Kennedy. We’ll probably receive a few glimpses at gameplay as well, including a teaser that points towards Raccoon City’s fate. If both Requiem and the Silent Hill 1 Remake end up releasing in the same year, horror game fans are in for a treat.

8. Marvel’s Blade

Since being announced during the Game Awards 2023, Arkane Lyon’s Blade has been missing in action. That initial look offered an incredibly stylized take on the iconic Daywalker, complete with a unique setting and a banging drill tune that’s still bumping in our ears. With the two-year anniversary of the reveal coming up, the Game Awards 2025 is the perfect stage for Arkane to share an extended look at Blade.

Bonus: GTA 6 Trailer 3

The odds of Rockstar revealing the third GTA 6 trailer at TGA 2025 are microscopic, but dreaming is free, right? The publisher has always shied away from doing reveals at major reveals, opting to follow its own timeline instead. It’s an effective strategy, especially since Rockstar’s reveals typically eclipse the hype of almost everything in the entertainment landscape. Yet, we’re still latching on to the futile hopes of seeing another glimpse of Vice City on December 11.

And that wraps up our list of the eight most anticipated announcements at the Game Awards. Did your favorite game make it to our list? Let us know in the comments.
