8 Best Data Saving Android Browsers to Surf the Web Faster

From article date this comment is late, but since article isn’t updated and when you search for a review for Specific browser but All you receive is every sites that has a “10 best browsers list” which are almost the exact same recommendation. Out of 15 sites, only this site Beebom even offered something other than the same browsers everyone else talks about. Granted I was trying to find a review of privacy pertaining to apus, aloha, armorfly browsers and some others. Also why would Anyone still use UC browser or Anything Opera browsers?? UC collects user’s sensitive data for China and Opera browser with it’s falsely advertised VPN ( only a proxy, and not a very secure one, either) collects and stores everything for it’s Chinese owners Ads company. Guess I’ll stick with Brave,Bromite,GNU icecat, & GNU iceraven. Have a good day,all..

about operamini, its new version using data about 300-500kb every time you opened the app. yes, every time even you’re not browsed yet. its to check the speed dial etc. and the data saving is not saving much

Use the old version of opera mini. find it in opera.com, the version is operamini 7.xx. But the downside is this version could do JavaScript or flash.

ive been check the usage, in the app it says total 80mb/400+mb
in my phone usage monitor just 60+mb usage. so its really saving much more

Currently i use 2, Opera for full site features, and opera mini for just reading articles (light usage)

Via didn’t save much that i could tell.

    • Addermc says:

Thank you for saying this. On different test sites for compression and data saving,Via or UC browsers (not that I would Ever recommend a thieving browser like UC) both browsers Bombed!! Lightning browser or it’s forked code, Snap browser (enhanced for privacy) both do considerably better. Thanks!!

  • K says:

Thanks for the article but unfortunately this article doesn’t include stats. Like load 10 web pages and show the data used of each browser to load those 10 pages. (Use my data manager or 3g watchdog or something) If they did they would realise that UC browser/Chrome and possibly many of the others they listed save hardly anything and maybe use fractionally less data than a normal browser.

In my experience with saving actual data (not just what the browser claims it’s saved and used, but according to an independent app such as 3g watchdog) for browsing with the full website (java script and images enabled) puffin (pro version with add blocker) does best by far. Almost uses as much data as opera mini on max savings mode and images off (opera mini with images on saves very little and uses about as much data as the full opera for android loading the full webpage) but unfortunately puffin is buggy when it comes to typing and has an annoying bug to randomly reload pages if the network connection is poor.

Modern day UC browsers use tons of data (even with data savings on) and hardly save anything. Old UC mini (UC go) browser was the best but now obsolete because of its useless add blocker.

Firefox android with Java script, web font and images disabled with full script blocking extension uses the absolute least data but that’s without images and some websites don’t show or work properly.

    Just my 2 cents.

u forgot that uc browser is based off china < so all of your data is going to the horrible chinese dictatorship. Nothing is worth that!

  • Mark says:

    you forgot Puffin Browser

  • Darlington says:

I use Opera Mini which is a very cool browser. It saves me 75% of data on my bandwidth.

    • K says:

Check with an independent data counter and not what the browser claims, it will surprise you how little you are actually saving. But still so much better than a browser without proper compression.
