The anime sits with an 8.1 rating on IMDb and 92% (Critics) and 80% (audience) on Rotten Tomatoes. So, obviously, fans wonder if Devil May Cry 2025 can get a potential Season 2. Here’s all you need to know about Devil May Cry Season 2 from Netflix.
Are We Getting Devil May Cry Season 2?

In an official X post, Netflix has confirmed that Devil May Cry has been renewed for Season 2. To be honest, we didn’t expect the announcement this early.
Netflix never renews a series without checking the boxes on a few things: viewership, reception, and watch hours. Intriguingly, the first season of Adi Shankar’s Devil May Cry crossed more than 5 million views and accumulated 23 million watch hours, so it’s obvious that Netflix didn’t want to delay the sequel announcement unnecessarily.
The first Castlevania series was released in July 2017, but the streaming giant didn’t renew it until September 2017. Netflix might have seen more potential in Devil May Cry, and that’s why the series was renewed for a new season within a week.
Devil May Cry Season 1 Cliffhanger Ending Sets Up Season 2
Following the death of the White Rabbit in DMC Season 1, when Dante and Mary think that the evil has been eradicated, a known entity emerges from the shadows. Initially, in his demonic form, he asks the demons to show gratitude towards Mundus as he frees them from the prison. After that, he reveals his true form, leaving every fan in shock; he’s none other than Vergil.
After witnessing their mother and Vergil falling prey to the demon attack, Dante believed both of them to be dead. However, he learns about Vergil’s survival while clashing with the White Rabbit in Season 1.
The Devil May Cry Season 2 will certainly see the brothers clash. Despite having a demon’s blood in his body, Dante is a pure human, but Vergil has turned the opposite after growing up in Makai. The fans also expect Mundus to enter the game, and we may get to see glimpses of Sparda in flashbacks.
