As I mentioned earlier, Akaza’s backstory is finally revealed in the final act of the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie. Akaza, known as Hakuji during his time as a human, crossed paths with Keizo when the latter was asked to handle the hotheaded boy assaulting people. When the whole world saw Hakuji as nothing but a delinquent, Keizo was the only one who offered him a second chance to start a new life.

Without getting into spoilers, Keizo was the important mentor character in Hakuji’s life and helped him turn his life around when no one else batted an eye. Since Channing Tatum played a limited character’s role in chapter 1, we can’t expect him to reprise his role again in the upcoming sequels. However, there is a chance that he may play a new character in the future.
