Have you ever tried so hard to give up on your app addictions? It could be a social media app like Facebook or Instagram, a mobile game like PUBG Mobile, or just casually scrolling through YouTube. If you could relate to this, I have found a cool website named Detoxify that will help you take control of your addictive behavior.
Detoxify, as the name suggests, is a website that will help you take a break from your favorite app which you’re using more than you are supposed to. The website generates a fake progressive web app of your addictive app. You can search for apps you want in the search bar provided on the website. This fake app should be replaced in places where you usually access the original app, especially in the app folders for best results. If you’re determinant enough, I would suggest you uninstall the original app.
The fake app generated by Detoxify has a counter that shows the number of times you opened the app. This will definitely help to be aware of how addicted you are to the app. The app also encourages you to get back to work which is funny but might be effective at times.
Setting up the fake app is very simple. All you have to do is open their website on Google Chrome or any other Chromium-based browser and tap on the Install button. A pop-up will now appear that will prompt you to install the progressive web app. Tap on Add and the fake app will be added to your home screen. Once you open the fake app, it will look somewhat similar to the below image.
However, the setup process is not the same in iOS. The website works only on Apple’s own Safari browser and will not function on Google Chrome or any other Chromium-based web browsers. You will have to visit the website, tap on the Share button and press “Add to Home Screen” to add the fake app to your home screen.
So, check out Detoxify today and regain the balance in your smartphone usage today. The link to the website is given below. Also, don’t forget to share your experience in the comments.
