8 Best TV Shows Like Suits You Should Watch

Suits is an incredibly popular TV series that features a group of lawyers and gives us an in-depth look at the functioning of a big law firm. The show focuses not only on the law but also on the personal lives of people practicing law. While Suits may feel like one of a kind to the hardcore fans of the TV series, there are several other series that are similar to Suits in many ways. In this article, I discuss some of the best shows falling under this category.

1. The Lincoln Lawyer

Based on Michael Connelly’s books, The Lincoln Lawyer has blessed the community with two seasons so far, and for the unacquainted, the TV show has already been renewed by Netflix for a new season. Thanks to the amazing star cast, the perfect cinematography, the gripping storyline, and the crazy one-liners.

The American drama follows Mickey Haller, a legal practitioner who doesn’t like to work sitting in his office. To make work fun, he is mostly seen working in his Lincoln car. Even though his working style may seem strange to most people, it cannot be denied that whenever he enters the courtroom, no one can question his arguments.

2. The Good Wife

The Good Wife stars the Emmy Award Winner, Julianna Margulies. Initially, she was the main selling point for the fans to adore the series, but later, it was the script that captivated their hearts.

The Good Wife follows a former attorney who has no choice but to re-enter the workforce after spending several years as a homemaker. However, she is left with no choice as her husband is sent behind bars for getting involved in a scandal, and she is the only one who has to take responsibility for the children.

Noah Centineo starrer The Recruit arrived on Netflix in 2022 and we can’t agree more that it is totally a stunner. If you are someone who loves to watch TV shows featuring out-of-the-box twists and turns, The Recruit is the best pick for you.

The story revolves around the CIA’s new recruit, Owen Hendricks (Centineo), who gets involved in a case involving several dangerous parties. The first season of The Recruit left no stone unturned to enchant every viewer with spectacular twists and action sequences. So, it’s no wonder everyone is waiting for the second season, the filming of which commenced in January 2024.

The ones who are familiar with the vast universe of Suits as well as Better Call Saul must already be aware of what made these series look similar to each other. Well, of course, it’s the overwhelming narrative, dramatic twists, and exquisite dialogues.

Suits is all about lawyers pulling off insane intellectual stunts, and well Better Call Saul is no different. BCS is set in the same universe as Breaking Bad, and this spin-off series focuses on the journey of Saul Goodman becoming one of the biggest criminal lawyers in the U.S.

Suits became popular for showcasing the lives of two legal practitioners, Harvey and Mike. It’s an interesting story that gives us in-depth knowledge of how a law firm functions. Also, the crime thriller shows how friendships and romantic relationships work in a highly competitive environment.

Similarly, Succession comes with a story that focuses on family feuds. We follow the journey of the Roy family, where four children craft strategies to take over their family business following their father’s deteriorating health. It’s a dark comedy that uses satire to highlight real-world political conditions.

Boston Legal is another series featuring several plot twists like Suits. However, what makes it special is that it is written by David E. Kelley, who was once a lawyer. Very few stories are written by extraordinary people who experienced those events firsthand, and Boston Legal is one of those gems.

Like Suits, Boston Legal follows the exploits of passionate individuals who tackle both Civil and Criminal cases. The series features people using questionable methods to achieve their goals. So, it makes you wonder if you should support the main characters you start to love.

7. How to Get Away With Murder

You can’t resist a show that features a title like that, right? Well, How to Get Away With Murder isn’t a tutorial that teaches you how to get away after killing someone. Instead, it’s a story of a powerful and intellectual woman who uses her detective or law skills to track her husband’s killer.

Much like Suits, this one features morally Grey characters who hold many dark secrets and can go to any lengths to achieve something. If there’s one that I can assure you, it’s that How to Get Away With Murder will catch you off-guard with its insane twists.

8. Breaking Bad

I know some fans may disagree that Suits and Breaking Bad are nothing alike – the former is about a bunch of lawyers and the latter is about criminals and drug lords. That being said, the core formulas of both shows are quite alike.

Suits show powerful lawyers who use their intellect to overcome anything, and Breaking Bad features a Chemistry professor using his high IQ to become the biggest drug lord. Breaking Bad is the highest-rated show of all time, and no one can hate or dislike it. You’d like to experience Walter White’s journey to become Heisenberg many times eventually.
