From the reveals, leaks, and glimpses, we can see Tomb Raider Catalyst taking the boldest leap in Lara Croft’s story. This new chapter, fully powered by Unreal Engine 5, brings realism and exciting realism to the world of Lara Croft. In Catalyst, you take the mantle of Lara (obviously), but this time, the wilderness of the adventures takes you to the ancient history of Northern India.
In terms of gameplay, we see a more confident Lara compared to the one we saw in the 2013 Tomb Raider trilogy. She is more fierce character while being in a similar character, looking for the answers behind the mystery. Gameplay mechanics showcase the iconic parkour of the modern Tomb Raider games with more outlandish terrains and risky environments.
Moreover, we see Lara using her iconic dual pistols with some exciting new gadgets in the mix. In the new gadgets, you will see the wrist-mounted grappling tool for better traversal and combat. As mentioned in some early rumors, we will get more such gadgets, possibly infused with mythical powers, in Tomb Raider Catalyst. Alex Wilton Regan, who has appeared in Cyberpunk 2077 and Mass Effect 3, will be the new voice of Lara Croft.
