In Short
  • Supergirl's first trailer brings Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El.
  • The trailer does not tell a lot about the plot, but it seems that it will draw parallels with Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, where Kara helped an alien girl avenge the destruction of her planet.
  • Supergirl is confirmed to be released in theaters worldwide on July 26, 2026.

After a substantial wait and days of anticipation, the first trailer of Supergirl has been released by DC Studios. The trailer brings in Milly Alcock as the new Supergirl for the DC universe, and in all honesty, watching her in the clip portraying Kara Zor-El has cemented my faith in the project even more. While the wait was long, we now have plenty to talk about after watching the first trailer of DCU’s Supergirl.

Supergirl Appears to Be Pure Chaos and Epic Action Sequences

Talking about the clip, just like Superman’s trailer, it is hard to figure out what exactly the plot of Supergirl is, and in all honesty, I believe that this is the best kind of teaser trailer any studio can come up with. The trailer shows us how well DCU has brought Supergirl to our screens from the pages of comic books, which in itself is pretty sweet.

Milly Alcock, as Kara Zor-El, looks perfect, and it appears that this movie will also give us a look at Krypton’s destruction. Talking about the plot, as I mentioned above, not a lot can be deciphered from the trailer, but the clip comes with a caption that reads:

“When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice.”

It was previously revealed that this movie will be adapted from the DC Comic, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow. In this comic, Kara decides to help an alien girl named Ruthye Marye Knoll avenge the destruction of her planet, and while doing so, Supergirl goes through a lot of character development herself. In the movie, Ruthye Marye Knoll is played by Eve Ridley, who also appears in the trailer.

It is safe to say that the plot of this movie, and the comic book, even though not the same, will run quite close to each other. However, we did not get to see Jason Momoa as Lobo in the trailer.

Looking at the trailer, it is certain that this movie will be fun, dope, and full of action. So let’s wait till June 26, 2026, to witness Supergirl deliver truth, justice, or whatever.
