With Hades 2 having a successful early-access launch, everyone is naturally excited about the game's final release date. Given the history of the first game, we expect Hades 2 release date to fall sometime between late 2025 and 2026.
Unlike the first-game, Hades 2 players won't see much of Zagreus in Hades 2. That has to be because of events that happen in-between Hades 1 and Hades 2. However, players will journey through the new world with Melinoe, the daughter of Hades.
Hestia was mentioned in Hades 1 but never shown. However, that has now changed, as she is one of the goddesses appearing to give you fire boons in Hades 2. She is also a sibling of Zeus, as per the history.
In Hades 2, you'll be taking the mantle of Melinoe, the princess of underworld. With Zagreus, Persephone, and Hades going missing, she goes out in a journey to save them and take revenge from the Time Titan Chronos. Historically, Melinoe is the spawn of Persephone and Zeus, who duped her by disguising himself as Hades.
Out of nowhere, Supergiant Games has dropped Hades 2 in early access, without announcing or marketing the launch. PC players can go and buy the game, joining the adventure of Melinoe. As early access successfully launches, Supergiant Games confirm the game will stay in early access for at least the end of 2024, with first major update dropping sometime later this year.
Supergiant Games is giving fans a chance to try Hades 2 early with a technical playtest before it hits Early Access. The test will focus on the first area of the game and is meant to help identify bugs for a smooth launch. Signups are open now on the game's Steam page.
After announcing Supergiant Games' Hades joining Netflix Games last year, the popular streaming platform has finally revealed that the game will release on March 19, 2024. It will launch exclusively for iOS devices for now, and players will need an active Netflix subscription. Pre-registrations for the game are live.
