All Star Wars Animated Shows in Order

Star Wars has a reputation for creating some of the best movies mankind has ever seen. However, after a successful run of making multiple movies, Star Wars has given us some really fun animated shows as well. In this article find out all about all the Star Wars animated shows that you can enjoy this weekend!

1. Star Wars: Droids (1985- 1986)

Star Wars Droids was the first animated show out of the Star Wars franchise. This animated show had C3PO and R2D2 as the main protagonists. Anthony Daniels gave the voice of C3PO where he, along with R2D2 embarked on different adventures fighting against different kinds of villains ranging from Bounty Hunters to the Galactic Empire itself.

After the massive fanbase that was generated around Ewoks, an animated series titled Star Wars Ewoks was released in 1985. This series revolved around the famous Ewok Wicket Wystri Warrick whom we saw in  Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The animated show brought us Warrick and his family carrying out adventures on Endor’s forest moon. Since this show is set before the events that unfolded in the original trilogy, there is no war during the events of this show.

3. Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008-2020)

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is the longest-running animated show to come out of the Star Wars Franchise. This series brought Clone Wars, the most well-known event in Star Wars to life. Star Wars: The Clone Wars revolved around the adventures of major characters like Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka, Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and others while the falling numbers of the Jedi fight for their survival as well as to restore peace in the galaxy.

4. Star Wars: Rebels (2014-2018)

Star Wars: Rebels is set five years before the events that took place in the original trilogy of Star Wars. This animated show has one of the best storylines ever seen in a Star Wars show and does not shy away from taking a rather darker undertone. Star Wars: Rebels follows a crew of misfits about a ship named Ghost who attempt to travel to as many worlds under the imperial tyranny as possible and help the people of that planet. This series brings in characters like Ahsoka who eventually got their own live-action series.

5. Star Wars: Resistance (2018-2020)

Star Wars Resistance takes us to the timeline of the Sequel trilogy, where we are introduced to Kazuda Xiono, a hotshot pilot who gets recruited by Resistance Commander Poe Dameron for a secret mission on the ocean planet Castilon under imperial control. He is given the mission to infiltrate Colossus, an aircraft refueling station, and gather intel. However, Kaz is no good as a mechanic and hence suffers to keep his cover which results in most of the humor in the show. Even though this show only has two seasons it is quite fun to watch.

6. Star Wars: Visions (2021- )

Star Wars: Vision is a stand-alone Star Wars project that is in no way related to any of the timelines that run through Star Wars. This project consists of 9 episodes each containing nine different short films created by seven Japanese animation studios. This show is very anime-like and brings out George Lucas’ inspiration from Asian cultures seen in Star Wars in a brand new light.

7. Star Wars: The Bad Batch (2021-2024)

Clone Force 99 made their first debut in the animated series Star Wars: Clone Wars and then in 2020 with their very own animated show, The Bad Batch. This series begins during the execution of Order 66 where clones turned against the Jedi. However, since Clone Force 99 is genetically mutated, they were unaffected by it. The series takes us to the aftermath the galaxy saw after the execution of Order 66.

8. Star Wars: Tales of The Jedi (2022- )

Tales of the Jedi brings in shorts from different points in the lives of popular Jedis like Ahsoka Tano. This series brought us the stories of two major characters, Ahsoka, as mentioned above, and Count Dooku. We get to see Ahsoka as a baby and then as a padawan under Anakin Skywalker followed by her adventures after Order 66. If we talk about Count Dooku, we get to see him on a mission for the Jedi along with his Padawan and him gradually being discovered to be a Sith.

Young Jedi Adventures is a kid’s show that features younglings being trained in the way of the force while they explore the galaxy and go on different adventures to learn important life lessons by helping citizens and various creatures in need.

10. Star Wars: Tales of The Empire (2024- )

Tales of the Empire follows two characters, first is young Morgan Elsbeth who has lost everything dear to her in an attack by the droid forces and now, walks a path of vengeance, seeking revenge for what she had lost. The other one is former Jedi Barriss Offee who is forced to do what is necessary for her survival. This show takes a rather dark undertone making it quite intense at some points.
