The popular free-to-play daily word-guessing game Wordle is turning five this year, and The New York Times has massive plans to celebrate the annual festivities. For daily puzzle solvers who like to collect badges, be it an all-green badge or the spooky Halloween badge, this year NYT is giving you a chance to earn two surprise Birthday Badges. So here’s how you can get Wordle’s 5th birthday and the 5-for-5 Challenge badge for your collection.
Claim Wordle 5th Birthday and 5-for-5 Challenge Badges
As mentioned earlier, The New York Times has announced festivities to celebrate Wordle’s 5th Birthday on June 19, 2026. This time around, to celebrate Wordle’s birthday, New York Times Games is launching two special Wordle badges players can earn to mark the milestone. They are:
- 5-for-5 Challenge badge: Solve 5 daily puzzles from June 15–19
- 5th Birthday badge: Celebrate the big day by solving the puzzle on June 19
The 5-for-5 Challenge badge is for daily solvers who aim to maintain their streak using the best Wordle starting words. To get this badge, you must have an active NYT Games account, and you’ll need to solve 5 daily puzzles between the dates mentioned above.
However, if you can’t maintain the 5-day streak, you can claim the 5th Birthday badge by solving the birthday Wordle on June 19.
These badges aren’t the only surprises that NYT has brought for Wordle fans.
Furthermore, The New York Times Games announced a collaboration with touring musicians who love solving Wordle. You have a chance to get V.I.P. access to these artists’ concerts by solving their special Wordle. NYT has collaborated with Nat & Alex Wolff, Young the Giant, Priscilla Block, and Passion Pit.
Each artist has released a unique bonus Wordle puzzle (and hint) for fans using the “Create Your Wordle Puzzle” feature. Select solvers will receive V.I.P. concert tickets, artist merch, and more at one of five shows across the country.
