The main focus of the “Made by Google” hardware event scheduled to take place on October 15 is undoubtedly going to be the Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL. But, according to a recent report by 9to5Google, the tech giant will be launching a 13.3-inch laptop in the event alongside the Pixel.
If the report is to be believed, the upcoming laptop by Google will be called the Pixelbook Go and will pack a 4K “Molecular Display” with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It appears like Google will be ditching its 2-in-1 form factor on this one and will stick to the clamshell design.
The Pixelbook Go is said to be arriving with a magnesium alloy body, making it as light or even lighter than the original Pixelbook. It is expected to come in Intel Core m3, i5, and i7 processor configurations. There will be 8GB and 16GB RAM variants to choose from and they will be coupled with either 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB of storage.
The speakers in the Pixelbook Go is rumored to be much more powerful when compared to the Pixelbook, thanks to the dual front-firing speakers. A 2MP front camera capable of recording 1080p videos at 60 frames per second will be equipped on the laptop.
Coming to I/O. The Pixelbook Go is expected to have two USB-C ports, one on each side of the laptop. A 3.5mm headphone jack will be included as well. The color variants confirmed as of now are “Just Black” and “Not Pink”.
