Various leaks, rumors and even full-blown hands-on videos over the past few weeks have revealed key information about Google’s upcoming Pixel flagships, but a new listing on Geekbench has now seemingly confirmed that at least the bigger model will come with a 5G variant. As can be seen from the screenshot below, the device, listed as Google Pixel 4 XL 5G, comes with similar hardware to what we already know about the standard Pixel 4 XL model.
Do note that listings on Geekbench are easy to fake, so it cannot be said for certain at this stage whether this particular one is authentic or not, but given that 5G is expected to become more widespread over the next year, and with most Android vendors starting to offer 5G phones even at the mid-range, it won’t be a surprise if Google does offer 5G connectivity with its next-gen flagship(s).
Either way, the phone’s benchmark scores are along expected lines for the Snapdragon 855, with the device scoring 761 in the single-core tests and 2,326 in the multi-core benchmark. In comparison, the Galaxy S10+ with the same chipset notched up 731 and 2,547 points, respectively. The listing also revealed the phone was running Android 10, was powered by the sm8150 (Snapdragon 855) and had 8GB of RAM.
In case you don’t know it already, Google is all set to launch its 4th-gen Pixel flagships next month, and a bunch of leaks over the past few weeks have already revealed some of their key tech specs. The larger of the two, the Pixel 4 XL is expected to ship with a 6.23-inch 90Hz display, the Snapdragon 855 SoC, a rear-facing dual-cam setup and the much talked-about Soli radar chip that is expected to aid gesture control.
