Akagami Shanks having an evil twin is a long-standing theory among the One Piece fandom. It was first theorized when Shanks met the Gorosei during the Levely arc. Since then, the author has also dropped hints about the potential twin character in chapters 1083 and 1121. Now, we have reached the end of 2024, and Oda has delivered a phenomenal chapter to conclude the year. The final panel of One Piece chapter 1134 featured Shanks, but it is not the man we have known all this time. Keep reading to find out how One Piece chapter 1134 confirms the existence of Shank’s twin.
Spoilers Warning: This post contains heavy spoilers about the story of One Piece. Thus, make sure to read up to chapter 1134 beforehand to avoid ruining your intended experience.
Shanks’ Evil Twin and The Holy Knights in One Piece
Before discussing the ending of One Piece chapter 1134, I highly recommend you check out our take on the Shanks evil twin theory to learn every piece of information we have related to this theory. The latest chapter of One Piece resumed Straw Hats’ adventure in the homeland of the Giants. While the characters were enjoying their dream trip, One Piece fans were waiting for the other shoe to drop as this chapter was the final chapter in 2024.
Just as we predicted, the happy times are coming to an end as the new villains of One Piece invade the giant’s castle in the final panel of chapter 1134.
The newest addition to the ever-growing collection of antagonists of One Piece is the God’s Knights aka Holy Knights. Oda has been teasing them as a silhouette in the recent chapters of One Piece. In fact, one of these members was confirmed to be an important character in the final race of One Piece. The silhouettes of God’s Knight in chapters 1083 and 1121 feature a new character who can be sharing an uncanny resemblance to Shanks.
Now, Oda didn’t have to keep teasing the fans as he had drawn the curtains to introduce two new members of the Holy Knights in One Piece. In case you missed it, Figarland Garling is the new elder replacing Saint Saturn as one of the Five Elders. Hence, he must have inherited the demonic powers the Five Elders possess.
As Garling was the supreme commander of God’s Knights, he utilized his new powers to teleport the Holy Knights member to the Giant’s castle. This can be confirmed by the satanic summoning circle seen in this chapter.
There are no doubts about the first member as he looked exactly like Shanks (covered in a hooded dress) when he visited the Five Elders in Mary Geoise. The introduction of evil Shanks (whom the fans funnily call ‘Shonks’ or ‘Shbanks’) has electrified the fanbase and got them excited for the next chapter coming out next year. He does not have the scar on his left eye if you have already read the chapter. Add Luffy vs Evil Shanks on your 2025 bingo cards right away as it is only a matter of time before this legendary fight breaks out in the manga.
If you are also wondering about who the new female member of God’s Knights here at Elbaf is, fans have fresh theories for that as well. This character’s face was wrapped around with bandages leaving only her right eye open. With this information, fans are theorizing that the female God’s Knight member will fight against Zoro (who has his left eye closed as you are aware already). Similar to how Luffy and Shanks share a connection, the new female member could be Kuina.
The chances of this happening are slim, but fans won’t stop creating theories like this as we enter a big break period again. As expected, Oda sensei has dropped a bombshell twist to wrap up 2024 in style. That said, what do you think about the new version of Shanks in One Piece? So, drop all your theories in the comments below.
