The recent creator event provides a bit of context about the early Minecraft Dungeons 2 lore. It showed how the world here has fallen out of balance, while a group of three aggressive Illagers has organized into an Illager High Council. The Sift Time Cycle: Tide System

In addition to new biomes, the dimension also introduces new hazards and mechanics that can alter your exploration approach. There are three tides in the Sift time cycle: Flow, Thrive, and Endure.

While Flow doesn’t add any effect, during Thrive, Soul regeneration and Artifact cooldowns are faster. During Endure, more powerful mobs can spawn, and your passive Soul regeneration stops. This new dimension is particularly special because vanilla Minecraft will add The Sift in 2027.
