Xiaomi has tasted a ton of success with its Mi Band fitness wearables. Its market share seems to be growing at a steady pace with each Mi Band iteration, as per an IDC report from earlier this year. Well, the Mi Band 4 launched a couple of weeks ago in China and went on sale just last week, but it has achieved a significant feat in the short amount of time.
As per a tweet from Xiaomi’s Director of Product Management, Donovan Sung, global shipments for Xiaomi’s newest fitness band have already crossed the 1 million units mark in just 8 days. Yeah, the Mi Band 4 has only gone on sale in China just yet, however, it has already shipped a whopping 1 million units in over a week’s time.
Sung further revealed that it’s the fastest time period in which this milestone has been achieved in the history of the Mi Band’s lineup, which is saying something about user’s eagerness for a colored display and enhanced fitness tracking.
Mi Band 4, for those unaware, launched in China last month with a bigger color AMOLED touchscreen in tow. It now supports a plethora of themes and watch faces, along with a renewed take on the fitness band’s software. You can now control music, record six activities with a high precision sensor, and even use it underwater up to 5ATM and 50-meter.
Mi Band 4 even comes baked with the company’s Xiao AI assistant, however, the voice assistant feature probably won’t come to India – nor will NFC support. The color screen, however, is enough to entice users who are looking to get a new fitness band at a very affordable price tag.
There’s currently no word on when the Mi Band 4 arrives in India, but we hope the same happens alongside the Redmi K20 series launch next month. Mi Band 4 shipments would only grow as the band goes on sale in Europe this week, so keep your eyes peeled for an even larger sales figure very soon. The Mi Band 3 became the largest selling wearable in India only within 3 months of its launch, as per IDC, and we expect the Mi Band 4 to do better when it finally arrives in the country.
