Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is a massive open-world game with very little hand-holding. Although the game has improved much on its core mechanics from its predecessor, making them more straightforward for new players, the game can still appear complicated. As someone who has finished both KCD 1 and 2, I am here with some help. So, without further ado, keep reading as we list out the best Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 tips and tricks you should know.
1. Get a Horse to Save Time

The first thing you must do after the tutorial quests are over in KCD 2 is find your Horse. Without the horse, going from one place to another can be a massive pain, especially as you need to visit a village first to unlock that area’s Fast Travel point. So better get your trusty friend early. For more help, learn how to get a horse in KCD 2 right here.
2. Learn Master Strike and Combos
The combat in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is simpler than its predecessor, but that doesn’t mean it’s easier. The combat can be very challenging at the start of the game, and you will often find yourself getting slaughtered by even the most poorly outfitted bandits.
That’s why you need to unlock Master Strike and Combos early on in the game. Master Strike is an unstoppable attack that can win you any fight. You need to complete Combat Training I and II to learn combos and master strikes in KCD 2.
3. Dodge Instead of Blocking
Unarmed Combat is a core mechanic in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, where you let your fists do the talking instead of your swords. The unarmed combat might appear similar to weapon combat, but there are slight differences.

First, I have tested multiple times to learn that dodging during unarmed combat is much better than blocking or riposting. Perfect Dodge the opponents’ attacks by pressing the Dodge key (Space Bar for PC), get close, and unleash your punches. This almost always will work in your favor. Learn how to do all that using our Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 combat guide here.
4. Use Bathhouse Services to Heal and Boost

Bathhouse services are one of the most essential mechanics in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 that you must always use whenever possible. First, it can clean and launder your clothes, keeping you from smelling bad and increasing your Charisma. Furthermore, you can heal yourself in KCD 2 entirely in a Bathhouse.
Besides that, you can romance with the Bathhouse maids to gain another Charisma buff for a short time. All of this comes at a very low price. Another thing to keep in mind is that your game auto-saves after using a Bathhouse service, which can be pretty helpful. Learn how to save game in KCD 2 right here.
5. Move Items to Your Horse
Another big reason to find your horse early in the game is that your horse acts as an extended inventory. The horses have different carrying capacities, which can be further increased by equipping better Saddles.
Simply open your Inventory while you are outside and press the ‘move to horse‘ key (X for PC players) to move the item to your horse’s inventory. Now, you can pick much more armor and weapons from the bandits you kill and sell them for a profit to the merchants.
6. Read to Increase Scholarship Level
The scholarship skill is one of the best skills for leveling up early on in the game. Not only does it have some of the best perks in KCD 2, but it also comes in extremely handy in conversation checks. All you need to do is read or study any new book you find.
Make sure to sit somewhere before you start reading or studying to increase efficiency. Leveling up your scholarship level can unlock perks that will give you more experience in other skills. Furthermore, one Scholarship perk, Explorer, reveals the entire map and Fast Travel points.
7. Equip Multiple Outfits
Your outfit dictates how the NPC in KCD 2 behaves towards you. In Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, you can equip multiple outfits simultaneously and swap between them based on the occasion.
I have always equipped myself with three different outfits: one pitch black and light set for stealth, another with good-looking clothes fit for nobility to increase my charisma, and finally, my battle outfit with my best armor and weapons.
8. Equip Torches at Night
Torches are very important in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Not only are they necessary to avoid being suspected as a criminal when traveling in villages and towns at night, but they also help you light up spaces or during those late-night bandit ambushes.

Visibility at night in KCD 2 is minimal, so having a Torch equipped can help you a ton at night.
9. Get Loaded Dice
Dice games are pretty common throughout all the villages and towns in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Some missions can only be finished early by winning a simple Dice game. But it’s not smart to leave your destiny to luck; sometimes, you must take charge of the RNG god. KCD 2 developers probably understood that. Which is why they added loaded dice in the game.
These loaded dice have certain characteristics like some always land on an even number. Even NPC dice players use these loaded dice to turn the game in their favor. So, get as many loaded dice as possible, and maybe even steal some from NPC dice players if you can.
10. Talk to Every Innkeeper
Innkeepers in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 are a great source of information for their respective areas. You can talk to the Innkeeper to learn about all the quest givers in that area, and the game will also mark them for you on the map.
Other than quest givers, the Innkeepers can also mark Points of Interest and help out in quests. If you ever have a question about finding information in an area, it’s always best to start speaking with the innkeeper, as they always know the local news.
So, these are the best KCD 2 tips and tricks to help you greatly in the game. If you have any other questions or want to share some of your tricks, do so in the comments below.
