With the end of the finale episode came the announcement that Kaiju No. 8 has been renewed for a second season. Here is everything we know about Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 so far.

The official Kaiju No. 8 English X account shared a post confirming that a sequel to the anime series is “currently in production.” The announcement post includes a short video backed by Narumi’s voice.

There is no mention of a release window, but since Season 2 is already in production, we can expect the next season to arrive in late 2025 or early 2026. Check out the teaser video here:

Alongside the short video teaser, the production team has also confirmed the voice actor for the new character introduced in Kaiju No. 8 Episode 12 — Gen Narumi. The captain of the First Division of the Defence Force will be voiced by Koki Uchiyama, who is well-known for roles like Miyamura from Horimiya, Tsukishima from Haikyu, Toge from Jujutsu Kaisen, and Mereum from Hunter x Hunter, among others.

Uchiyama shared an official comment on joining the Kaiju No. 8 voice actor cast saying,

“After reading the original story, I found Gen Narumi to be a really interesting character with many different traits, so I kept that in mind during the recording. The episode was very intense, and the recording studio was filled with excitement. I felt that the recording was going well in this great atmosphere. I hope you continue to enjoy both the original Kaiju No. 8 manga and the anime.”

For those unfamiliar, the anime is based on the Kaiju No. 8 manga by Naoya Matsumoto. It tells the story of Kafka Hibino, a middle-aged man who takes a final leap to fulfill his dream of joining his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro, in the Defence Force to fight Kaiju together. But fate had different plans in store for him as Kafka turned into a Kaiju, which we witnessed in the anime’s premiere, and is now looking to help humankind fight Kaiju while being one himself.
