Earlier, the staff announced the January release window for JJK season 3 to commemorate the anime’s fifth anniversary. Now, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 — Culling Games: Part 1 has been officially confirmed to premiere on January 8, 2026, for international fans at Jump Festa 2026.
The upcoming season 3 will adapt the long-awaited Itadori’s Extermination Arc, Perfect Preparation Arc, and Culling Game Arc.
Has the JJK season 3 Trailer Been Released?
Along with the official announcement of the JJK season 3 release window, a 2-minute main trailer was released. You can view the official first trailer for JJK Season 3 below to get a glimpse of the most-anticipated fights in JJK season 3:
In addition, the staff released another intriguing trailer featuring the gruesome events of JJK Season 3 at the Jump Festa 2026 event. The animation looked breathtaking, and the glimpses of the events looked promising. However, nothing affected me more than seeing Yuji in that devastating state in the new trailer:
How Many Episodes Will JJK Season 3 Have?

Alas, no official announcement has been made by MAPPA staff regarding the episode count of Jujutsu Kaisen season 3. However, it was confirmed that season 3 will cover up to the Culling Game arc. Thus, the upcoming season has to cover over 80 chapters within a single season.
Since the new season is titled “Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 — Culling Games: Part 1,” we expect the third season to be split into two cours in line with its previous seasons. Thus, JJK season 3 is expected to feature a 24-26 episode run with part 1 airing during the winter 2026 season (January-March 2026) and the Culling Games part 2 likely during the summer or fall 2026 season.
What Arcs Will JJK Season 3 Cover?

Here is the information about each arc that will be adapted in JJK season 3:
- Itadori’s Extermination Arc (chapters 137-143)
- Perfect Preparation Arc (chapters 144-158)
- Culling Game Arc (chapters 159-221)
If you aren’t aware, 63 chapters were adapted into 24 episodes for season 1, and 73 chapters were adapted into 23 episodes for season 2. Itadori’s Extermination Arc and Perfect Preparation Arc are mini-arcs and can be adapted in the first few episodes of the first cour. Then the first half of the Culling Game arc is expected to be covered in the first part.
It is still an arduous job for the MAPPA staff to pull off, as these arcs involve a sheer amount of battle scenes. All we can do now is wait to see how many chapters of the Culling Games the anime will be able to adapt since it features numerous cliffhangers. Now that the Jujutsu Kaisen manga has officially ended, the staff can easily plan the future seasons of the anime.
