- Jonathan Majors was charged with domestic violence and abuse, causing his arrest in March.
- A six-person NYC Jury has charged him guilty of these charges.
- Following this verdict, Majors has been fired from the MCU and will no longer be playing Kang.
Kang the Conqueror’s ruling days are over. The Emmy-nominated actor has been charged guilty of reckless assault and harassment in his domestic violence case by a six-person NYC jury. Following his verdict, Kevin Feige fired Jonathan Majors from Marvel Studios. Majors debuted as He Who Remains in the MCU with Loki Season 1. He appeared as Kang in Ant-Man: Quantumania for the first time delivering a noteworthy performance. After Loki Season 2, Jonathan Majors was supposed to reprise his role as Kang in Avengers: Kang Dynasty but that cannot happen anymore.
The decision of Jonathan Major’s Firing can have a serious impact on the future of the MCU. Kang the Conqueror was supposed to be the big baddie of the whole Multiverse Saga but now it seems that Marvel will have to think of something new, really fast.
However, Jonathan Majors not only lost his big shot in MCU but along with it, he was also fired by his manager 360 Entertainment and publicist The Lede Company. The Primetime Emmy award winner actor for HBO’s Lovecraft Country seems to have seriously ruined his career for good. Priya Choudhary, Major’s attorney in an official statement stated:
“It is clear that the jury did not believe Grace Jabbari’s story of what happened in the SUV because they found that Mr. Majors did not intentionally cause any injuries to her. We are grateful for that.”- Priya Choudhary
In her statement, she also added “We are disappointed, however, that despite not believing Ms. Jabbari, the jury nevertheless found that Mr. Majors was somehow reckless while she was attacking him”. However, she made it absolutely clear that Jonathan Majors is grateful for the end of the harrowing experience of over 8 months and will most certainly clear his name from all the charges pressed against him.
Beebom’s Take
Now, the big question that comes with this decision is, what is going to happen next in the MCU? As we have known for quite some time, Jonathan Majors was supposed to play the role of Kang in Avengers: Kang Dynasty. However, now Marvel will have to make some quick decisions regarding the future of the MCU. In our opinion, the most viable possibility in this case could be the introduction of Doctor Doom as the main villain of the Multiverse Saga.
The Fantastic 4 will be released on May 2, 2025, but as per initial reports, Doctor Doom was not supposed to appear in this movie. However, Kevin Feige might end up changing the script to introduce Doctor Doom in Fantastic 4.
They can even use Deadpool 3 as a canon to bring back some of our favorite nostalgic villains which are rumored to appear in the movie. The firing of Jonathan Majors can come as a serious blow to MCU which might give an upper hand to the upcoming DCU under the leadership of James Gunn. Now the ball is in Kevin Feige’s court for him to decide how to bring the MCU back to the line with its central character gone. So, let’s wait and see where this goes and we will let you know as soon as we get our hands on the possible prospects of MCU.
