Spider-Man is coming back to the neighborhood with Brand New Day, but this time around, he is not going to be alone. It was revealed a while ago that Punisher will be an integral part of the upcoming movie, and we were under the impression that Frank would act as Spidey’s ally. However, when it comes ot Marvel, the possibilities are quite literally endless. What Is The Punisher Special Presentation Plot Leak?

The Punisher Special Presentation is pretty sought after, considering Frank Castle has not had a show to himself since 2019. Now, even though Marvel is keeping the details of this show under tight wraps, multiple reports claim the plot of the Punisher Special Presentation has been leaked. According to the leak, the Punisher special will adapt one of the most beloved Punisher comic book arcs titled “Welcome Back, Frank” from 2000.

This comic storyline basically tells us that Frank is hunting down one of the last surviving crime families in New York City after the downfall of Kingpin, the Ma Gnucci criminal empire. Even though Frank succeeds in his crusade by brutally wiping out the Gnucci family but what the Punisher thought as clearing up NYC for good came with serious consequences. With the last crime family out of the picture, a power vacuum encapsulates the city, and small gangs across the city start causing chaos.

The plot leak suggests that this story will be adapted from the comic book, but in The Punisher Special Presentation, when the city is being overrun by gangs and everything is going down in chaos, three villains rise up, and they are none other than Tombstone, Boomerang, and Scorpion/Mac Gargan. As per the leak, when Frank realises what he has unleashed, he disappears in the shadows to find a way to fix what he has done while reporters cover the ongoing riots and gang wars going on in the city.

So, How Does Spider-Man: Brand New Day Come into the Picture?

Now, you must be wondering where Spider-Man comes into the picture, especially the upcoming movie. A while ago, it was confirmed that Punisher would be a part of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but his capacity in the upcoming flick was kept under tight wraps. However, now we know that The Punisher Special Presentation will be released before the upcoming movie.

Moving up, it is also confirmed that Spider-Man will be seen going against Tombstone and Scorpion in Brand New Day and since the plot leak clearly confirms it that Frank’s actions in the Punisher Special Presentation unleashed these villains on New York City and now, in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, we could see Spider-Man trying to keep these villains off the streets while The Punisher is trying to send them all 6 feet under.

If the said plot leaks turn out to be true, and The Punisher is out to take down the villains his actions unleashed on the city while Spider-Man tries to detain them, we could once again see a dynamic very much like the one we saw in Daredevil Season 2.

It would be interesting considering Spider-Man has lost everyone he loves and cares about because he chose to protect people who were destined to die, but with him finding himself in a somewhat similar situation, will his moral compass still take him in the same direction, where he tries to convince Frank not to kill but detain?

This question makes the wait for Spider-Man: Brand New Day even more anticipated, but the shift of Spider-Man being the one making a mess and others helping him clear it out, to him being the one clearing out Frank’s mess, shows true character development in the most Marvel way possible, and I’m all in for it.
