  • Moreover, you can sure ride them using harness and make them follow you using the lead.

The Minecraft Chase the Skies drop adds a new mob, the happy ghast, to the game. These cute and cheerful mobs are the opposite of the angry and fiery ghasts found in the Nether dimension. You can befriend and ride these creatures using a special item. If that sounds fun, learn how you can tame a happy ghast and ride the mob in Minecraft.

Can You Tame a Happy Ghast in Minecraft?

As of now, the happy ghasts cannot be tamed in the traditional sense in Minecraft. But, you can try luring the happy ghasts with their favorite food – snowballs. However, you will soon notice that the happy ghasts won’t accept your offering and don’t eat the snowballs.

If you keep clicking the right mouse button, you might throw some snowballs at them by accident and scare them away.

Apart from this, you must understand that once you bring a dried ghast block from the Nether, waterlog it to convert it into a ghastling and nurture it further, you’re making a new friend in the whole process. The creature will now stay near your base as long as you play in this world.

As soon as ghastlings or happy ghasts are spawned, their home point is set to that particular region. A small ghastling or a happy ghast with a harness will roam around a 32-block radius of its home set point. Whereas, the unharnessed happy ghasts can roam around a 64-block radius of their home location.

In contrast to other tameable mobs like the dogs and cats, no collars appear around the neck of the happy ghasts, and neither do they follow you or teleport to your location. This can be solely for the reason that these can’t be tamed, and can’t be fed any of their favorite food to display the love signs.

How to Ride Happy Ghast in Minecraft

Don’t be sad if you can’t seem to get a way of taming the happy ghasts, since there’s a way to ride these majestic flying creatures. All you need is a harness in Minecraft, place it on the back of the happy ghast and soar through the skies.

You can further make use of happy ghasts in transporting villagers, mobs, and all those creatures that previously didn’t fit in a boat, like a horse or a sniffer. Simply attach one end of the lead to the happy ghasts, and the other either to a boat or to the heavy mob itself.

Finally, you can make a happy ghast station in Minecraft to ease the process of riding and parking them near your base. Once all this is done, and you want the harness and leash for another happy ghast, simply cut them off using the shears.
