GTA 6 PS5 Exclusive Features: What PS5 and PS5 Pro Players Get

As Sony advertises “Plays Best on PS5” for GTA 6, PlayStation is the frontrunner for experiencing the new Grand Theft Auto game in its peak form. GTA 6 is set to support all the major features of the six-year-old PS5 console and its Pro variant. Here is a list of PS5 exclusive features that GTA 6 supports and how they enhance the overall game experience.

All PS5 Features Supported by GTA 6

With the release of the GTA 6 launch trailer, the PlayStation Store listing revealed all PS5-supported features available for Grand Theft Auto 6.

Here are all PS5 features that GTA 6 will support, according to the game listing on the PlayStation Store:

  • Fast load times
  • Adaptive triggers
  • Haptic feedback
  • Integrated speaker
  • Tempest 3D audio

Fast Load Times

When Sony announced GTA 6 plays best on PS5, one of the major selling points was the console’s ultra-high-speed SSD. The company mentions that GTA 6 utilizes the PS5’s ultra-high speed SSD, so players can freely explore the GTA 6 map with “near-instant load times.”

This basically means GTA 6 won’t feature a loading screen, which has been a staple in previous GTA games.

Does this mean Xbox will have loading screens but PS5 won’t? Likely not. Microsoft’s Xbox Series X and Series S will probably feature fast loading times as well. There should be feature parity between the two consoles; else Xbox users will get to enjoy GTA-style loading screens while PS owners won’t.

Adaptive Triggers

It’s not surprising that GTA 6 will support the PS5 DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers.

The adaptive triggers will, of course, heighten tension when using GTA 6 weapons during combat or intense car chases. Players will be able to feel dynamic resistance from the triggers while aiming and firing a gun by pressing L2 and R2.

Haptic Feedback

Haptic feedback is another PS5 exclusive feature that will be available for GTA 6 players when using the DualSense controller.

Whether you’re in an intense gunfight or driving your favorite car across the Leonida map in GTA 6, you will feel even the tiniest details with the PS5 controller’s responsive vibrations. This feature will bring to life your every interaction with the massive open world of Grand Theft Auto 6.

Run down a pedestrian? Vibration. Blow up a locked safe? Vibration. Get a notification on your in-game phone in GTA 6? Vibration. Feel the wind while parachuting, one of the activities in GTA 6? Vibration.

Integrated Speakers

Paired with haptic feedback, GTA 6 will utilize the PS5 controller’s integrated speaker for unique interactions and gameplay mechanics.

For GTA 6, Rockstar has stepped up their game and confirmed that sound effects for various interactions and occurrences will be played through the PS5 controller’s integrated speaker to increase immersion.

Let’s not forget the in-game phone. Like Grand Theft Auto 5, phone calls from Lucia or Jason and other GTA 6 characters, police sirens, radio, and other audio content will play through the speaker of the PS5 controller.

Tempest 3D Audio

Lastly, GTA 6 also supports PlayStation’s Tempest 3D audio tech. As a result, players can experience GTA 6’s various soundscapes in high quality. For example, if you are on the run from the cops, you’ll hear the police sirens clearly from all directions.

Every encounter in GTA 6 will feel more realistic and immersive. In addition, you can listen to GTA 6 songs in the best quality while driving or walking in the game.

Will GTA 6 Run at 60 FPS on PS5 and PS5 Pro?

Although Rockstar has confirmed the PS5 exclusive features GTA 6 will support, the developer has remained tight-lipped about the game’s performance on Sony’s console.

So, if you are still wondering whether GTA 6 will run at 60 FPS on PS5 or PS5 Pro, we will have to wait for Rockstar to share more details on console performance.

The GTA 6 Extended Look revealed that the game runs at 30 FPS on the base PS5. Rob Nelson, Rockstar’s Head of Development, revealed that GTA 6 is running at only 30 FPS on consoles during development, according to Davy Jones, a Brazilian YouTuber who visited Rockstar North earlier this year.

At the time of writing, there is no confirmation of 60 FPS support for GTA 6 on PS5 and PS5 Pro. On the other hand, it has been revealed that GTA 6 is a PS5 Pro enhanced game, but Rockstar hasn’t yet revealed the enhanced features for the Pro consoles on the game’s PlayStation Store page.

We will update this post once we hear more details about GTA 6’s performance on PS5 and PS5 Pro from Rockstar. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts about the PS5 features GTA 6 supports in the comments below.
