The Grand Theft Auto franchise already saw players drive around Vice City back in 2022. Now, with GTA 6, Rockstar Games is returning to Vice City with new vigor. The studio has rebuilt the location and expanded it into the fictional state of Leonida, containing beaches, islands, wetlands, industrial areas, and neon-heavy streets of the modern-day Vice City. Want to know about every new location in Grand Theft Auto 6? We have discussed the major GTA 6 locations in Leonida, along with several other major points of interest, shop and business locations, and more.

All Major Locations in GTA 6

The six major GTA 6 map locations revealed via the official website are:

  • Vice City
  • Leonida Keys
  • Port Gellhorn
  • Ambrosia
  • Grassrivers
  • Mount Kalaga National Park

Rockstar Games has shared official artwork for these major locations, as you will see below. We’ve seen several other confirmed areas and key points of interest in Grand Theft Auto 6 trailers and the Extended Look on Netflix.

Learn about all confirmed locations in GTA 6 so far:

Vice City

If you’ve played GTA games before, Vice City in GTA 6 needs no introduction. Rockstar is bringing it back as a modern take on the neon-soaked city you might have explored first in 2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

The difference between the two maps is staggering. Instead of the compact early 2000s rendition of Miami, Vice City in GTA 6 delivers a broader vision in the state of Leonida.

This GTA 6 location showcases bright beaches, towering buildings, nightlife, busy roads, waterfront areas, residential neighbourhoods, crowded public places, and so on.

Vice City is also central to the story of our two GTA 6 protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.

Leonida Keys

Leonida Keys is Rockstar’s fictional take on the Florida Keys and one of the most distinctive new locations in GTA 6.

Unlike Vice City, which immediately screams metropolitan Miami, the Keys showcase a rather slower and more isolated coastal environment.

This is a special region because in GTA 6 Trailer 2, we see how Jason has a direct connection to this part of Leonida. Official character material from Rockstar also explains how Jason ended up in the Keys working for a local drug runner before meeting up with Lucia.

Visually, you’ll notice that water dominates the landscape in Leonida Keys, and boats become an important mode of transport. Brian Heder, a major GTA 6 character, is a long-time drug runner who operates a boatyard in the Keys and has a connection to Jason.

Port Gellhorn

Port Gellhorn is another major confirmed location in the state of Leonida, and it represents a different side of GTA 6. While Vice City is polished and flashy, Port Gellhorn is presented as a rougher and more weathered part of the state.

This GTA 6 location is filled with roads, low-rise buildings, businesses, and vehicles. It seems as if the state’s tourist economy collided with the working-class communities here. The contrast alone is enough to make the long drives on your favorite GTA 6 vehicle meaningful.

With an area like Port Gellhorn, it’s a perfect backdrop for crime, escape routes, and characters who don’t neatly fit into Vice City’s glamorous world.

Ambrosia

Ambrosia is one of the most intriguing confirmed locations in GTA 6 because it breaks the idea of the game being Vice City plus countryside. This region has a strong rural and industrial identity. Moreover, you can not find any skyscrapers or beaches here.

This is not a densely populated region, and the main job provider for the NPCs living here is the sugar refinery. Ambrosia has a clear connection to the side activities in GTA 6 and the wider cast. Here, you could find the biker gang rallying across the streets.

Grassrivers

Grassrivers is one of the six major locations of GTA 6, and this area is wetland territory. Here, you will find thick vegetation, wildlife, boats, and a different ecological component from Vice City.

This location is primarily connected to the game’s wildlife and water-based activities. We have seen screenshots of gators repeatedly being used in Rockstar’s promotional content, and Grassrivers is a natural home to them. Who knows, you can find a mission connected to capturing the gators in here.

Mount Kalaga National Park

At the opposite end of the citylife spectrum sits Mount Kalaga National Park, the sixth key location in Grand Theft Auto 6, as confirmed by Rockstar. Its presence proves how Leonida is not just a flat coastal recreation of southern Florida.

The artwork collection provided by Rockstar shows Mount Kalaga is a patch of forest with elevated terrain, roads, and landscapes that you won’t find in the city. Mount Kalaga is the place that shows how hunting and fishing in GTA 6 is much more detailed than in other titles in the franchise.

Other Key GTA 6 Locations and POIs

Beyond the six major regions, Rockstar Games introduces several smaller locations, neighborhoods, and landmarks throughout Leonida. These areas add variety and culture to the larger regions of the state.

Here is a breakdown of additional locations featured in the Grand Theft Auto 6 promo material:

Ocean Beach

Ocean Beach is one of the most recognizable named areas associated with Vice City in GTA 6 Extended Look on Netflix. It represents the classic sun-drenched side of the city, where beaches, hotels, crowds, nightlife, and expensive vehicles collide.

It is worth separating this area from the Vice City region. While Vice City is a major metropolitan location, Ocean Beach is one of the areas that gives the city its internal variety. You can drive, walk, and socialize here, making Ocean Beach potentially become an area involved in the game’s many activities.

Little Cuba

Little Cuba is a confirmed Vice City name that deserves special attention because Rockstar Games has used the name in their official promotion. This location fits the broader depiction shown as a culturally diverse modern metropolis.

People and NPCs staying in this area have different communities, businesses, architecture, fashion, and street culture.

Stockyard

Stockyard is another confirmed location that you might have spotted in the GTA Trailer 1 if you’re keen enough. This area demonstrates the city’s more creative and street-level side. You can easily identify this neighbourhood by the massive murals painted on the walls and pillars of overpasses.

Vice City Port

Vice City Port is another major location in Grand Theft Auto 6 that adds a different flavor to the coastline. While Ocean Beach represents tourism and leisure, this port represents commerce, shipping, infrastructure, and the industrial side of the metropolis.

This area provides huge open spaces, warehouses, vehicles, water access, and might also be one of the places where the characters move illegal goods. So, you might find certain side quests here, and if you don’t carry them out with dexterity, you might end up raising your criminal profile in GTA 6.

Starfish Island

Starfish Island carries considerable historical weight for longtime GTA fans since the name also appeared in the previous GTA Vice City video game. The island concept naturally fits into GTA 6’s coastal environment.

Vice City is surrounded by water, bridges, and beaches, so Starfish Island can function as a natural contrast to the denser parts of the city. Among all the locations in GTA 6, this place instantly creates an interesting balance of nostalgia and reinvention.

Venetian Islands

The Venetian Islands contribute to Vice City’s extensive coastal geography, adding a recognizable island area to the metro city.

The inclusion of such islands with extensive waterways surrounding them will provide a massive playground for trying out the boats, cruises, speedboats, and other watercraft in GTA 6.

Leaf Links is associated with Vice City’s golf culture. Like Starfish Island, the name of this place is rooted in the earlier Grand Theft Auto history.

We have played golf as a side activity in GTA 5. Now, the sport returns, and the golf course is connected to a nostalgic location that will engage the returning players who grew up playing GTA Vice City.

Bayside

Bayside is another confirmed GTA 6 location that emerged through the extended look. This is an interesting place because the name was presented as dialogue from Lucia in GTA 6.

As we see Lucia driving through the Bayside streets, it appears to be more low-rise and waterfront-oriented than the towering core of Vice City. This creates a useful transition between the urban and rural environments.

Watson Bay

Watson Bay is a smaller coastal location associated with Leonida’s extensive waterways and settlements. Places like these add to the state’s collection of varying communities beyond the tall concrete buildings and urban centers.

Vice City International Airport

The Vice City International Airport is one of the most important infrastructures among the GTA 6 confirmed locations. Airports have always been valuable spaces in the franchise because you could easily find some abandoned planes here that you could fly and use as a mode of transport.

So, we can expect a similar structure here with runways, terminals, parking structures, and aircraft. While you have already seen signboards stating Vice City Airport in the official footage, expect more information once the game releases for everyone on November 19, 2026.

Vice-Dale County

While Vice City in itself is an enormous urban centerpiece, moving beyond the city’s streets into the surrounding areas falls under Vice-Dale County.

While Rockstar has not yet shown a complete official map, we can presume that the regions in Vice-Dale County act as a transition environment between the busy streets and the countryside.

Leonard County

Leonard County marks the area beyond the Vice City environment, similar to Vice-Dale County. The name appeared in the first trailer of GTA 6 as a name on the police car, when the officer was chasing an obese man.

Kelly County

Kelly County is another confirmed location in GTA 6 that you must have spotted if you know where the Stockyard text was shown in the first trailer. This is an interesting area that consists of beaches, wetlands, rural roads, islands, and industrial locations serving as a transition between the bustling streets of Vice City and the countryside.

Jason’s Safehouse

Jason’s Safehouse is one of the most important named properties that was shown at the start of GTA 6 Trailer 2. This house is located in the Leonida Keys, where Jason in GTA 6 works for the local drug runner Brian before meeting Lucia.

Shops and Businesses in GTA 6

Alongside the major recognizable landmarks, GTA 6 features several businesses that contribute to Leonida’s economy, entertainment industry, and the criminal underworld.

Some of these can have a direct connection to in-game characters, while others can help establish the identity of Vice City itself. So, here are some notable shops and businesses in Grand Theft 6:

  • Allied Crystal: A sugar refinery operating in Ambrosia and one of the primary sources of employment.
  • Only Raw Records: A recording label operated by Boobie Ike and Dre’Quan Priest, with aspiring rap duo Real Dimez.
  • Jack of Hearts: Boobie Ike’s established adult entertainment club.
  • Brian Heder’s Boatyard: A business operating in Leonida Keys that connects directly to Jason.
  • Tisha-Wocka Flea Market: A Vice City marketplace featuring various imitation brands and local merchandise.
