Are you also frustrated with all the promotional emails you are receiving, most of which, you don’t even remember you signed up for? Well, I am, and I have tried a lot of things to stop them from crowding my inbox but I can’t seem to get rid of them. First of all, finding that tiny unsubscribe button is hard, and then when you click on that button, you are redirected to a page where you will have to confirm your decision to unsubscribe from their mailing list as if anyone hits that button by mistake. Some of them even have the audacity to ask you for reasons behind unsubscribing, and once you are done doing all that, you remember you have to repeat this process a hundred times more. Basically, the whole process is just a mess and is designed to deter you from doing just that.

That’s why I was so happy to find the tool that I am going to share with you today. The aptly named tool Unlister is a simple script for Mail on macOS that scans your Junk mailbox for promotional emails and newsletter and automatically unsubscribes from them. Now, how cool is that. The tool basically does all the work for you and makes sure that your inbox stays clear of all those pesky promotional emails. The way it works is that it searches for the List-Unsubscribe header and then presents you a list of subscriptions. Here, you can pick and choose the services you want to unsubscribe from and the script will automatically load the unsubscribe page or send the unsubscribe emails in the background.

That’s how easy it is. I tried it before writing this article and the tool does work. However, whether I have been truly unsubscribed from those promotional services can only be confirmed after a few days when I can confirm I have stopped receiving those emails. So, if you are also frustrated by the tons of promotional emails you are receiving, use Unlister and share your experience with us in the comments section below.
