The Witch’s Homework is the way to unlock the new Hexeri Secret Rite buffs in Genshin Impact. These buffs are specific to seven old Mondstadt characters and Durin, but expect more characters to enter the list in the future. Now, you cannot simply get access to these buffs by obtaining the character. To do that, you will need to unlock and complete the Witch’s Homework quest. Here is a quick guide on Genshin Impact Witch’s Homework quest so that you can easily unlock all the Hexerei Secret Rite buffs for your characters.

How to Unlock the Witch’s Homework

To use the Witch’s Homework to unlock the Hexerei: Secret Rite buff, you first need to unlock it. Thankfully, unlocking the Witch’s Homework is very easy to unlock. Here is what you need to do:

  • Open the Events Overview and select the Witch’s Homework from the left.
  • Next, tap on Go to Quest to start the ‘Witch’s Homework: Solution’ quest.
  • Now, head to the Mondstadt library and help Lisa by arranging the new supply of books.
  • After doing it, you will find the Little Witch’s Dictionary, which will summon Alice.
  • Finally, speak with Lisa again to complete the quest.

After you complete this quest, the Witch’s Homework for the Hexerei: Secret Rite buffs will be unlocked. Alongside that, you can now also invite one character between Razor, Sucrose, and Fischl for free.

What is the Hexerei: Secret Rite Buff

The Hexerei: Secret Rite buffs are the new mechanic implemented in Genshin Impact Luna III. This new mechanic buffs many of the old Genshin Impact characters from Mondstadt, while also introducing a new synergy effect. When at least two Hexerei characters are on one team, they unlock special abilities if they have completed their Witch’s Homework.

How to Unlock the Hexerei: Secret Rite Buff

Now that you have a clear understanding of what the Hexerei: Secret Rite Buff is, here is how you can unlock it for your characters. First, you must complete the following two requirements:

  • Obtain the character
  • Level up the character to 70

So, you need to own the character and level them up to 70 if you want to unlock their Secret Rite buff. Once you have done that, open the character page and select the Hexerei character you want to unlock. Then follow these steps:

  • Select the Talents option and then click on the new locked Secret Rite talent.
  • Next, select Go to Homework. This will open the Little Witch’s Dictionary.
  • Select the character you want to unlock the quest for and click Accept Quest.
  • Complete the quest to unlock the buff for that character.
