Dragon’s Dogma 2 is going to be released on March 22nd and before their official release, Capcom decided to release their character creator for the game as a demo. This idea was an outstanding marketing strategy, as players waiting for the game are spending hours after hours building just in the character creator. The Dragon’s Dogma 2 character creator is surprisingly in-depth, allowing players to unleash their full creativity. I have seen some beautiful characters on Steam, some amazing remakes of popular characters (like the Witcher)…and abominations….a lot of abominations.
When it comes to a good character creator, gamers never hold back their creativity. This leads to either amazing characters or absolute monstrosities. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is not an exception and the character creator’s Steam community page is flooded with some very interesting ones. After sorting through hundreds of horrible characters, I have selected the absolute best (of the worst), for your entertainment. Here are 20 of the funniest abominations created in Dragon’s Dogma 2 Character Creator.
Note: Some of the characters were missing a specific name, so I decided to name them accordingly. Also, the image source has been linked in the caption, so make sure to drop a comment on the creator’s Steam post.
1. Rat Man
When I saw the Beastren species being added to Dragon’s Dogma 2, I expected a lot of cats, lions, and tigers. However, never in my wildest dreams could I have guessed someone creating a literal Rat Man out of a Beastren body type.
2. Budget Freiza
This is Budget Freiza…that’s the only connection I could make with this absolute abomination. Ever since this Arisen was created, Grigori has been trembling in his slumber, having nightmares of Freiza roasting him, as he did with Jiren in Dragon Ball Super.
3. Old Frankenstein
Who can be better than Frankenstein as your Arisen’s protector pawn? Old Frankenstein is not only strong but also comes with the wisdom attained through old age. Have him by your side and listen to his wisdom from his puffy red lips.
4. Zombie Arisen
With all the Resident Evil remakes released recently by Capcom, they never could have guessed that the T-virus would infiltrate Dragon’s Dogma 2 and infect our loved Arisen.
5. Peak Humanity
I had no idea what to name this monstrosity, but thankfully a fellow Arisen had already suggested the name ‘Peak Humanity’ in the original post’s comment section. How this character will equip a weapon, or wear any armor, is beyond me.
6. Filthy
Continuing the Zombie style Arisen trend, we have filthy, who is very…filthy. This Arisen is prepared to face every hardship the game plans to throw at it, and may also throw hardships at the game with his weird character design. I am still unsure whether the Undead will attack him or just leave him be.
7. Nina (FMAB)
Oh, a sweet-looking Beastren…*realization hits*. This creation is undoubtedly the most evil monstrosity on this list! If you have watched Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, you know exactly who this character is supposed to be. If you haven’t watched it, it’s best you skip to the next one on the list.
8. Robot
It’s a robot…or an Alien? Whatever this is, Grigori has never faced it in any of the timelines and will be completely bamboozled after facing our Robot Arisen.
9. Budget Gollum
This creepy-looking character only made me think of Gollum from Lord of the Rings, even though he had bigger eyes. Another apt description would be a human blob fish, so choose the one you like the most. For some reason, I find this character design perfect for playing the Trickster vocation.
10. Female Ogre
The Ogres in Dragon’s Dogma 2 will finally find their competition against the Female Ogre. However, the real question is whether they will be excited at the scent of our female Ogre Arisen or not!
11. Baby Face
I have no idea why someone would create this monstrosity, but I do know that this face will haunt me tonight. The ability to fine-tune this creepy look on a character creator is nothing short of a talent.
12. Hag
The first thing that came into my mind after watching this character was Auntie Ethel, the Hag in Baldur’s Gate 3. These creations continue to amaze me and I cannot stop giggling thinking about her roaming in the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2, helping other NPCs and slaying monsters.
13. Double Chin
I have seen plenty of double chins on real people, I also had one growing up, but this character has a double chin in the most literal sense. Why Grigori would want this Arisen’s heart is beyond me.
14. Goblin
I was quite impressed with this Goblin character design. The Goblins in the Dragon’s Dogma 2 might just avoid attacking this one, as it can clearly pass off as a Hobgoblin.
15. No Clue
Now, I didn’t even try naming this one. After studying this character for hours (well more like 10 minutes), I have no idea what to make of it. So, I leave it up to you guys, name it whatever you want in the comment section below.
16. Balloon
Yes…I know. Who thought of this monstrosity is beyond me. However, seeing how the game behaves when someone does use this character is going to be pretty entertaining.
17. Mommy Joy
Mommy Joy is the vampire you may have never wanted, but she is here nonetheless. She only has 4 teeth and I am unsure how the game NPCs will ever look at her and see their savior. Tough times require tough solutions, I guess.
18. Smurf
Ever had a wild dream of playing as a Smurf and killing giant monsters? I never did. But who am I to judge the dream of another fellow Arisen on their path to slay Grigori? All the glory to the 100th son of Papa Smurf.
19. Granny
The only name that popped into my head after watching this character is Granny from the iconic horror game. I cannot wait for Arisen Granny to slap some sense into Grigori.
20. Old Man
The perfect embodiment of an annoyed old man tired of living and always finding issues with the young generation. This Arisen will berate everyone in the game for everything they have done and could have done.
So, there you have it. These are the 20 funniest characters I found for Dragons Dogma 2. However, there are so many more masterpieces from the community that I haven’t added to this article. So, make sure to jump on the Steam Community hub and Dragon’s Dogma 2 subreddits and enjoy them to the fullest.
