Fantastic Four: First Steps is now live in theaters, and while I’d absolutely recommend catching it on the big screen, it’s totally fair if your curiosity about the credits scene is getting the better of you because yep, it’s exactly what fans were hoping for. Fantastic Four: First Steps has two post-credits scenes, each of which ar of varying importance. The first post-credit, or to be specific, mid-credits scene, is the one you need to watch. In this scene, we see a time jump of 4 years and the introduction of Doctor Doom. Another post-credit scene is more like a tribute to the original Fantastic Four animated show, where Herbie is seen watching the original 1967 animated show.
What Happens in the Post-Credit Scene of Fantastic Four: First Steps?
In the first post-credit scene of Fantastic Four: First Steps, we see that Sue Storm is tending to Franklin Richards and asks Herbie to pick a book for her to read to Franklin as she goes to the kitchen. When she returns, she sees that someone is in their house talking to Franklin, and as it turns out, that the person interacting with Franklin in the post-credits, or mid-credits scene of Fantastic Four: First Steps, is none other than Doctor Doom.
We see that he is wearing his cape, and his mask is in the hands of Franklin, but we don’t get to see his face, and that is where the scene ends with the message “Fantastic Four will return in Avengers: Doomsday.” In the other post-credit scene, we see that Herbie is watching the iconic animated version of the Fantastic Four, first released in 1967.
Is Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four 2025?
Yes, Doctor Doom appears in the post-credit scene of Fantastic Four 2025. While we do not see his face, he is wearing the same hood we saw Robert Downey Jr. wearing when he was unveiled as Doctor Doom. Also, Franklin Richard, the son of Sue Storm and Reed Richards, is holding the mask of Doctor Doom.
