All Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC Main Bosses

Radahn Consort of Miquella Boss Fight Elden Ring Shadow of The Erdtree

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree has 7 main campaign bosses. As such, you must defeat all seven to finish the main story of the DLC. The following list is also in the order you are supposed to fight them in the game:

Boss NameLocation
Divine Beast Dancing LionTheatre of the Divine Beast, Belurat Tower Settlement
Rellana, Twin Moon KnightEnsis Moon Grazing Ground, Castle Ensis
Golden HippopotamusMain Gate Plaza, Shadow Keep
Messmer the Impaler/Base Serpent MessmerMessmer’s Dark Chamber, Shadow Keep
Romina, Saint of the BudChurch of the Bud, Ancient Ruins of Rhua
Followers of MiquellaCleansing Chamber Antiroom, Enir-Ilim
Promised Consort Radahn/Radahn, Consort of MiquellaDivine Gate, Enir-Ilim

1. Divine Beast Dancing Lion

Divine Beast Dancing Lion is the first boss most players will encounter in the game. He resides in the Belurat, Tower of Settlement and is a great skill check for new DLC players. His move set is very aggressive, forcing the players to always stay on their toes and think quickly, which is the perfect practice for the rest of the bosses in the game.

Even though he appears extremely hard to defeat at the beginning, he is one of the easier bosses in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

2. Rellana, Twin Moon Knight

Rellana, Twin Moon Knight is among the best boss fights in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, featuring a nice blend of challenging difficulty and cinematic brilliance. Her fight is a lot similar to Pontiff Sullivan in Dark Souls 3, better and more challenging in many ways.

Elden Ring lacked a good representation of a Carian Knight boss fight in the base game, with Loretta being the sole boss, so it’s great to see that the DLC did justice to the Carian Knight Lore.

3. Golden Hippopotamus

Golden Hippopotamus is one of the worst boss fights in Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree due to barely any movement space in the boss room and terrible camera angles.

This boss is the gatekeeper of the Shadow Keep and you need to defeat him to progress the main story. He is very aggressive and the small room makes the fight miserable, more so in phase 2.

4. Messmer the Impaler/Base Serpent Messmer

Messmer the Impaler (or Base Serpent Messmer in phase 2) is the best-designed boss fight in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. Messmer is a very challenging boss, but fair at the same time. This boss fight is a pure spectacle.

Although he is easier to defeat than some of the other bosses, the boss fight is highly memorable and easily goes down as one of the best-designed boss fights in the Soulsborne franchise.

5. Romina, Saint of the Bud

Romina, Saint of the Bud is the guardian boss of the Sealing Tree and you need to defeat her to burn the Sealing Tree with Messmer’s Kindling. She uses Scarlet Rot attacks, but not nearly at the level of Malenia from the base game. Romina has a predictable move set and takes a lot of damage, making her one of the easier boss fights in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.

6. Miquella’s Followers

Before the final boss fights in Enir-Ilim, players need to defeat all the followers of Miquella in a massive battle royale-type setting. This boss fight can be very challenging due to the large number of opponents, but it is also very well done.

The Followers of Miquella boss fight may lack the flashing big attacks, but it has a human touch that makes it a memorable fight in the DLC.

7. Promised Consort Radahn/Radahn, Consort of Miquella

Promised Consort Radahn is everything you ever wanted in the FromSoftware final boss. He is the hardest boss in the game by quite a difference, and this boss fight will drive you to the point of despair. Being a massive fan of the Radahn boss fight in the base game while being disappointed that he could be cheesed easily with overpowered builds, it felt amazing to fight him at his full strength.

Promised Consort Radahn is the most difficult boss fight in the entire Soulsborne franchise, and is truly deserving of the final boss tag.
