Is Ellie Dead in The Last of Us Season 2?

After Joel’s death in Episode 2, Ellie traveled to Seattle with Dina and has been searching for Abby throughout the remainder of The Last of Us Season 2. But we only saw Abby reappear unexpectedly in the Pinnacle Theatre in the final episode of the series.

Throughout this season, Ellie killed all of Abby’s friends one by one in her quest to find the woman who killed Joel. As a result, Abby doesn’t hold back and straight up shoots Ellie, after shooting Jesse in the face, in the final episode of TLOU Season 2. Fear not, friend, as Ellie will make it out alive, thanks to Tommy. As Abby fires a shot at Ellie, Tommy, who had been knocked out earlier, manages to get back on his feet and push Abby just as she is about to pull the trigger. So, the gunshot does not hit Ellie, and she survives.

What Happens to Ellie After The Last of Us Season 2?

After Ellie escapes Abby’s deadly attack, they engage in brutal hand-to-hand combat at the back of the Pinnacle Theater. Abby gets another chance to kill both Ellie and Dina, but believe it or not, it ends with Abby sparing Ellie’s life for the second time.

Upon being given a second chance at life, Ellie doesn’t waste it and moves to a farm near Jackson Community with Dina. Dina gives birth to Jesse’s baby, JJ, during this time, and they begin their new life together at the farm. However, this happy ending doesn’t last long as Ellie gets tormented by Joel’s death flashbacks.

With Tommy resurrecting her vengeance by paying a visit to her place, Ellie sets out again to find Abby and complete her unfinished revenge business with her this time. All of this chapter in Ellie’s life will probably be covered at the end of The Last of Us season 3 or at the start of TLOU Season 4.
