Demon Slayer Season 4 Episode 7 featured the awesome entry of Demon King Muzan Kibutsuji at the Ubuyashiki estate. However, it wasn’t until the final episode that we learned why he arrived to see the sick leader of the Demon Slayer Corps.

Even though Kagaya Ubuyashiki couldn’t see anything, he sensed the demon lord. Without seeing him, Kagaya instantly said, ‘Nice to meet you, I should say Muzan Kibutsuji.’

Half of Kagaya’s face is covered with bandages, so after seeing him, Muzan mocks him by saying that he looks hideous. With his shaking voice, Kagaya asks Amane about Muzan’s build and appearance. Amane tells him that Muzan looks like a person in his late 20s.

After that, Muzan and Ubuyashiki have a long conversation. The former reveals to the latter that he looks forward to becoming immortal by capturing Nezuko, one of the strongest female characters in Demon Slayer.

Ubuyashiki tells him the real meaning of eternity and says that he can’t achieve it – if there’s anything truly eternal, it’s the human will. He then says that the Demon Slayer Corps lost several warriors but the organization is still unstoppable.

Muzan wasn’t familiar with what was in Ubuyashiki’s mind and what is the dying man up to. The Demon Slayer Corps leader tells him that he believes he’s not that important, so his death won’t do any harm to the Hashira. He continues by saying that his death will only bring the best out of each warrior.

As per Ubuyashiki, if he dies, the Hashiras will be fuelled up and get more motivated towards the eradication of the demons. Listening to this, Muzan gets angered and gets ready to kill Ubuyashiki along with his wife and two children.

However, before he can do any harm to the family, Ubuyashiki sacrifices himself and his family by having his own house explode and setting it on fire. While the Ubuyashiki family dies in an instant, Muzan blows up and the spikes embedded within the blast don’t allow him to regenerate instantly.

While Muzan was struggling to heal, Tomayo attacked him with her Blood demon art that pierced the body of the demon with thorns. After that, the demon lady shows up and pummels him with a heavy punch. She then says that her fist contains a drug that will turn him into a human. Hearing this, Muzan punches her back and makes her recall the time when she devoured her children and husband.

Tomayo cried and yelled at him saying that she only wanted to survive the incurable disease so that she could see her children growing up. She also says that if she knew that after becoming a demon she would become the reason for her family’s demise, she would have never agreed to the transformation. However, she reveals that she will die with Muzan to pay for her sins, and then she calls the Stone Hashira in Demon Slayer.

The Beginning of the Final Battle

Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Hashira, severs Muzan’s head with his flail axe from behind. But the demon lord possesses next-level regenerative powers compared to other demons, so he regenerates in the blink of an eye.

While the demon starts unleashing attacks on the Stone Hashira, every other Hashira along with Tanjiro shows up. Gyomei tells them that even if they severe Muzan’s head, the devil won’t die. The only way to kill Muzan is to stretch the fight until daylight. That’s because only sunlight can kill the Demon Lord.

So, in the Demon Slayer Season 4 ending, when every Hashira heads towards the demon lord with their respective breathing techniques, Muzan takes them to the Infinity Castle. Zenitsu and Inosuke also arrive with the same motivation to kill the most deadly demons, along with other members of the Demon Slayer Corps.

The Infinity Castle will be the battleground for the final battle between the Demon King and the Hashiras, along with Tanjiro and his friends. This dimension is home to the remaining Upper Moon demons, including Akaza, Kukoshibo, and many others. We cannot wait to see how Tanjiro and the Hashira will take on the Muzan in the Demon Slayer Infinity Castle movie trilogy that was announced after the finale.
