Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is closing in on its release, and the anticipation is reaching new heights. However, there is a tiny little problem. The original Daredevil show came out in 2015, and between the first season and the third one, a lot happened outside the show while introducing us to multiple characters from the same universe. Now, this might throw off some people with the thought of “there’s a lot to watch before Daredevil: Born Again Season 2,”. However, since you are here on this page, I’m pretty sure you are as hardcore a fan as I am. So, let me give you a complete watch order of Daredevil and everything around it!

When Marvel shows were being aired on Netflix, Daredevil Season 1 was the first chapter of the Defenders saga. Following its release, Jessica Jones was released, introducing Luke Cage, who later got his own standalone series, followed by the introduction of The Punisher in Daredevil Season 2, as well as the release of Iron Fist.

Now I know the number of shows here is massive, and it’s kind of impossible to binge all of this before Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. However, the silver lining here is that watching all of the above-mentioned shows is not strictly necessary before you jump in on the premiere. As long as you are fluent about everything that went down in all three seasons of Daredevil (2015) and the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, you are quite sorted for the upcoming show.

The only condition where it would be necessary is if you want to learn about all the characters involved in the lore of Daredevil. Daredevil Season 1 introduces us to Jessica Jones, who is set to return in Daredevil Born Again Season 2 with Krysten Ritter. Should You Watch The Punisher Before Daredevil Born Again Season 2?

The simple answer to that question is no, you don’t necessarily have to watch The Punisher before Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Jon Bernthal was introduced to us as The Punisher in Daredevil Season 2, and everything he did in the series is enough to understand his motivations and the dynamic he shares with Daredevil/Matt Murdock.

However, if you seek a deeper understanding of the character, only in that case should you watch The Punisher. Nevertheless, if you do decide to watch it, let me assure you that it will be worth your time.

Is Punisher Returning in Daredevil Born Again Season 2?

With the way Daredevil Born concluded, one is bound to think that The Punisher will return in Season 2. However, you would be slightly disappointed to know that The Punisher is not returning in Daredevil Born Again Season 2.

In a recent update, Sana Amanat, the executive producer of the upcoming season, confirmed to Empire Magazine that The Punisher would not be returning and will be seen directly in The Punisher: Special Presentation. The plot of this upcoming presentation is widely unknown to us at the moment, but some rumors tell us that it would be based on the comic book arc of Welcome Back, Frank, released in 2000, and would bring in Ma Gnucci as the main villain.
