Apply a Custom Font in Microsoft Word

If you don’t like any of the fonts in the font menu, you could always install a custom font from the internet and use it in Microsoft Word. Here’s how to do that:

  1. Download a font you like from the web. We recommend checking Google Fonts (website) or Fontspace (website) as they offer a slew of fonts to download and apply.
  2. Once downloaded, extract the font and install the style of font you’d like to use in Word.
  3. You can install a font by right-clicking on its .otf file and clicking on Install.
  4. Once installed, search for the font’s name in Microsoft Word’s Font menu and click on the Set As Default option, as mentioned above.
