Among the many new features in iOS 12 including things like the ability to scan QR codes directly from the Control Center, and the OTP autofill feature, another really cool one has just come to our attention.

Sharing passwords is now easier than ever on your iPhone or iPad. You can now share passwords by just using AirDrop. This will let you share the password to any iOS or macOS device near you.

How to Share Passwords with AirDrop in iOS 12

To share a password using AirDrop in iOS 12, just follow the steps below:

  • Head over to Settings, and tap on Passwords & Accounts.

  • Tap on ‘Website & App Passwords‘ and then tap on the website or service for which you want to share the password.

  • Tap and hold on the password, and tap on AirDrop.

Now you can just select the iOS or macOS device with which you want to share the password, and that’s it!

The receiver can then simply add the password to their own Passwords & Accounts.

While this will not come in handy if you’re trying to share your WiFi password with another iOS or macOS user, but it sure can come in handy if you need to send your password to another device that you’re trying to log in on. Especially if you’re as forgetful about these things as I am.
