What Is the Plot of 28 Years Later?
The plot of 28 years later has already been revealed to us with the trailer. According to the synopsis the movie is set exactly after almost three decades of the virus attack and the United Kingdom has crumbled to the Rage Virus. Somehow, humanity has managed to survive and one such faction lives on a secluded island connected to the land only by a small, heavily guarded pathway. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, one group sets out to the mainland on a mission and discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors reflecting how the virus has mutated not only the infected but also the surviving humans.
One of the actors in the film, Ralph Fiennes shed some more light on the plot in his interview with IndieWire. He tells them that the mission this group is headed on is to find a doctor in Britain who has been completely consumed by the Rage Virus. He also tells us that the movie focuses on a young boy who is also a part of this group. He has ventured into this nightmare to find a doctor who could save his dying mother. Ralph commented-
“Britain is 28 years into this terrible plague of infected people who are violent, rabid humans with a few pockets of uninfected communities. And it centers on a young boy who wants to find a doctor to help his dying mother. He leads his mother through this beautiful northern English terrain. But of course, around them hiding in forests and hills and woods are the infected. But he finds a doctor who is a man we might think is going to be weird and odd, but actually is a force for good.” – Ralph Fiennes
