hi all, informative article… i want an open source File Manager / Explorer which can Delete files and not move files to Recycle bin or Trash folder, if necessary just ask to do it, no matter the files i want to delete are in Internal Storage or SD Card ( i am not asking for System files ) and file size/type.

  • Etaoin Shrdlu says:

Who needs all the “extras” these apps come with. All I want is an app that functions on my Android the way File Explorer does in Windows. In particular, I want an EASY way to create new Folders and Sub-Folders, and Copy or Move files between them. THAT’S IT!

Why can’t the tech “geniuses” ever employ the KISS principle, and KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID!

  • Krossbonzz says:

I’ve been using CX File Explorer for a while after ES was taken down. I find it very easy to use and plenty of features. At the moment I’m going to try Mixplorer Silver to see if it is a better app. One thing I have yet to see is speed transfer testing between the File explorer apps as there may be differences. Otherwise why pay a lot of money for a higher speed micro SD when you’re File App isn’t optimized by its author.

    • ShushkuvannaTish says:

File transfer Is dependant On your drive Speed Mostly.

  • Salvador Pais says:

I have tried all of them and for 5 years that I only use the FX File Explorer, it is the best Android file explorer in all aspects and specially with rooted devices.

  • Tru Do says:

Hi Beebom, is there any Android file manager app with a recycle bin feature?

    • Ponce says:

      Solid Explorer has a bin.

  • Mido Uwk says:

I think ES File Explorer is better than most of them

    • Kishalaya Kundu says:

ES File Explorer was removed from the Play Store for click fraud. We cannot knowingly recommend it when there are better open source (and proprietary) alternatives.
