At last, our wait for the most-anticipated smartphone of the year has finally come to an end as Xiaomi has today launched the Mi A2 (global variant of the Mi 6X) in India. The Xiaomi Mi A2 will be available in India in 2 memory+storage configurations, namely 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. While the former has been priced at Rs 16,999, Xiaomi said the higher-end 6GB+128GB variant is coming soon.
The Mi A2 will go on sale from August 16 and will be exclusive to Amazon, but you can also head to Mi.com and the company’s Mi offline retail stores across the country. Pre-orders will begin on August 9 on Amazon and Mi.com. Xiaomi has also tied up with Reliance Jio to offer Rs 2,200 as cashback when buying the phone with a new connection, along with 4.5TB of 4G data. The Mi A2 ill be available in four different color variants, Black, Gold, Lake Blue, and Rose Gold.
Mi A2: Key Specs
Talking about the specs, the Mi A2 features a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It doesn’t have a notch and looks exactly the same as Mi 6X, which is a good thing for those who haven’t yet come to terms with this trend.
The Mi A2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660, coupled with Adreno 512 GPU to handle your graphical needs. It comes in two variants, one with 4GB of RAM and another with 6GB of RAM, along with three internal storage options — 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB.
In the optics department, the Mi A2 comes with a dual rear-camera setup with a primary 20-MP (f/1.75, EIS) sensor and a secondary 12-MP (f/1.75) sensor. There’s also a 20-MP selfie camera on board as well, which comes with Xiaomi’s AI portrait feature. There’s also the Face Unlock feature, which is in demand right now.
The Mi A2 comes with Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box, thanks to Google’s Android One program. It carries a 3,000 mAh battery pack, which supports 18W Quick Charge 4+ charging via the USB Type-C port. However there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack on board, you’ll have to make do with the dongle in the box. To sum it all up, here’s a quick look at the major specs of the device:
