Wuthering Waves 1.2 Dev Notes: Free 5-star Character, Reserve Waveplate Storage & More

Wuthering Waves has just released their Dev Notes for the upcoming version 1.2, revealing some quality additions to the game. Kuro Games have built a reputation of actively listening to the community and their latest Developer Message is another indication of that, adding highly demanded features and mechanics to the game, including — 120 FPS support, Resonator Showcase, character lock-on, and much more, many of which are still missing in Genshin Impact. Wuthering Waves 1.2 is going to add many great QoL features to the base game, including the much anticipated 120 FPS support. Here are all the updates revealed in the Wuthering Waves 1.2 dev notes.

• Custom Lock-on Option: Players will now be able to turn on Custom Lock-on from Options, allowing them to choose the Lock-on Priority between Movement Direction, Camera Direction, and Distance.
• New Utility Hoverdroid: The new utility will allow all characters to shoot projectiles, allowing players to complete shooting challenges without the need to swap to other Pistol characters.
• Excess Waveplate Storage: Waveplate crystals will be stored after Waveplate storage becomes full, up to 480 max cap. One Waveplate Crystal will regenerate every 12 minutes, and each crystal is equivalent to one waveplate.
• Support for 120 FPS: Version 1.2 will add 120 FPS option for PC players.
• Resonator Showcase: Players will now be able to view and display the convene scenes of unlocked Resonators, so players can have better-bragging rights.
• More Illusive Realm Rewards: New items will be added to the Illusive Store and they will be available as convene events.
• More points from Waveplate Activity: The activity points reward for the Daily Quest — Spend 180 Waveplates, will be increased to 60 (from 20).

Other than the QoL updates, Wuthering Waves will also give the 5-star Resonator Xiangli Yao free in the 2nd phase of WuWa 1.2. Although, they haven’t shared much info on the event and have asked the players to wait for further announcements.

Wuthering Waves 1.2 Release Date

Wuthering Waves version 1.2 is expected to release on August 15, 2024, as the previous version is ending on that date. Kuro Games hasn’t confirmed the release date for the upcoming version 1.2, but you can expect it around August 15. Version 1.2 will also feature the two new 5-star resonators — Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao, in the featured convenes.
